One of our favorite actors has parted sadly,    he made some great movies and was a terrific actor.

In addition to being a great actor he was also former US Marine.

 

He lied about his age to enlist in the Marines at age 16 and served from 1946-1951.

What an absolutely brilliant actor, so many great films, so many iconic performances. The man was a giant.

 

He's been retired for quite some time, and he has certainly has looked frail lately in the photos that I've seen of him. There's absolutely no way that she and the dog died simultaneously of natural causes. Perhaps he died and she decided to take the dog's life and then her own?

I'm thinking carbon monoxide accident but they should have been protected from that in a house equipped, but you never know, as many don't think about CM when they live in their houses. It isn't too probable that a 95 year old would take his own life, along with his wife and dog.

Sad news indeed, a brilliant actor. 

 

IMO his best performance was Mississippi Burning.
