  • I probably would let it pass, because most Thais have no idea of European history.   OTOH, you are one of the nastiest and most offensive posters on ASEAN, so you get no pass from me.

  • The Thai woman wouldn't know what the symbol represented or ever heard of Hitler, Nazis, the Holocaust, or WWII. Her other T-shirt probably has a picture of Che Guevara and she thinks it's Bob Marley

  • As long as people do not wear any made in China MAGA gear i am ok with it.

In the USA, wearing such a garment would be circumstances that would be considered in evaluating the reasonableness of the use of deadly physical force. In other words, a good chance of getting shot.

I don't think that wearing such a shirt in the US would provoke any reaction whatsoever.

Fascism has essentially been openly embraced by MAGA and President Musk.

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was born on 29 July 1883 in Predappio in northern central Italy. His father was a blacksmith. Employment prospects in the area were poor so in 1902 Mussolini moved to Switzerland, where he became involved in socialist politics. He returned to Italy in 1904, and worked as a journalist in the socialist press, but his support for Italy's entry into World War One led to his break with socialism. He was drafted into the Italian army in September 1915.

In March 1919, Mussolini formed the Fascist Party, galvanising the support of many unemployed war veterans

Several years ago in the local market a Thai woman walked past wearing a 3/4 length knitted jacket an down the back it had in big print,   I  LOVE  TO  FxCK,  only there was a U instead of an x.   I said to my wife " look at that",  to which she did and simply said to me "up to she".   I said my wife should tell the woman but my wife said no, it was none of her business and it may be true anyway.

I think it is now permissible under the new era of 'free speech' and the right to make the Heil Hitler sign.

In Germany? Begs the question if there are limits on "free speech"? In the USA a great question as to limits on all "Rights" applied under the "Bill of Rights". The  historic answer appears that, all "Rights" have limitations. The defining of those "Rights" is defined by the SCOTUS and varies over time.

Was she good looking?

No. The woman seemed to have little idea who he is. She said "just fashion, not serious"

True, I think, as a result of historic and English meaning ignorance here in Thailand. Once upon a time, a significant other's Daughter here put on a T-shirt printed with "F**k Me". Really, says I that is what you want to say/ask?  She changed the shirt immediately.

I wonder what would happen if someone with a japanese imperial logo tattooed on their arm went to China

Probably get into more trouble if it were a "Winnie the pooh" tattoo.

I wonder how many foreigners are walking around bearing Tattoos in a language they don't understand with similar messages?

When your standing on the right, everything appears left.

As an aside, just so you know, laugh emoji reflect poorly on both the sender's knowledge and credibility.

Back in the early 1980's I was a member of student government in my university. A dinner, featuring Henry Kissinger, was organized and I was invited.  I wore a Dead Kennedy's tee shirt with "Holiday in Cambodia" printed on the front. The secret service detail wasn't impressed, and requested that I take it off or leave. I left.
