I've noticed in thailand that there seem to be two tyoes of expats : the strivers and the losers.

 

The strivers can be seen at 07:00 in starbucks on their laptops, usually checking their stocks/crypto wallets to see how much they made overnight.

 

They are usually well dressed, clean shaven, toned, and look like they have a brain.

 

On the other hand you have the losers. these are usually fat old balding men sat in the bar at 9am having a beer, watching their lives slowly fade away into oblivion... You can see in their eyes that they have been divorced at least 3 times..

 

So, which one are you?

I'd consider anyone that needs to count their money every day (cos they might not have enough to buy lunch) as a loser.

   Unfortunately  they don't make enough to afford their own place with Wifi , so they have to leave their shared dorm at a backpackers and head off to Starbucks and make a coffee last all morning before heading off to the shopping mall in the afternoon to leech off their free wifi
