Silicone removal?

Featured Replies

Had a new shower screen installed but they made a mess of it. Quite a bit of clear silicone smeared on the glass and metal frame, I could have done better. Tried the usual things recommended like WD40 and nail varnish remover but not really worked, anything made for the job? On the plus side we had a bathroom sink put in by another guy Home Pro gave us and he did a professional job.

Did you try turps?

Try it on a bit of glass stained silicon first in case I'm wrong.

I'm fairly sure my son used turps to remove excess silicon filler around some kitchen skirting board. Covered the board with that blue masking tape, filled the cracks and then whiped off the excess. Worked a lot better than soapy water.

At least I talk to you even after some of your disturbing (to some people) posts. 🙂

Thanks, what are the disturbing  posts, dogs or pro Tump? 😦

Let us know how the stuff chckenslegs recommended works out.

I've always just used a razor scraper to remove silicone.  Works perfect on glass and ceramic.  Works okay on metal.  But it's risky on painted and softer surfaces.

When I read the title I thought you needed a plastic surgeon to remove some breast implants gone bad.
