Only one country out of 27 did not agree to declaration in support of Ukraine at EU summit

Featured Replies

Leaders of 26 out of 27 European Union member states approved a declaration supporting Ukraine at the summit in Brussels on March 6. Only Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán refused to vote for this decision, according to Radio Svoboda. The declaration mentions support for the potential deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine under the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), through which the European Union participates in peacekeeping operations.

Orbán's refusal to vote for the declaration means that it will not be included in the official conclusions of the EU summit but rather will be placed in the annexes to those conclusions, "strongly supported by 26 member states."

Regarding rearmament, all 27 EU members agreed on the European rearmament plan recently presented involving mobilizing 800 billion euros and includes financing of 150 billion euros for defence purposes.

Don't forget EU to use those frozen Russian sovereign assets, £170 billion worth, held in European jurisdiction.

No surprises there then.

Orbán has long been known as a Putin 'yes' man.

I think the word you're looking for is steal the frozen assets.  If that happens it can't be good for the EU or the Euro.  Imagine how many countries, companies and high net worth individuals might just decide it not safe to keep money in the EU banking system.
We'll just have to wait and see

No surprise at all. If you look at those countries and how their government works now. Allowing illegals into them. Forcing being woke on everyone. Making their own citizens less important than the foreigners. It is nice to see Hungary stood up for not wanting a decade long war with Russia and Zelenski.

As an American I am happy that we withdrew support for this war that the Ukraine does not want to end. Their leader is getting rich.  The other countries can throw away their money on the. endless war.

Surely that is incorrect and the op wording is correct? Rather than seizing the assets outright, the EU plans to utilize the proceeds and interest generated by these frozen funds to fund protection against Russian imperialist aggression.
