How to seal/improve aluminium windows

Featured Replies

Hi,

We have very basic standard aluminium windows. These windows have a very simple design with gaps and holes that let dust, heat, noise and insects in.

As these types of windows can be commonly found in Thailand, I wonder if there are sealing kits or any DIY solutions that would improve them in any way?

What's the function of the 2 hole on the side? Can these be closed off so no insects can go inside?

Thank you very much,

Patrik

Shouldn't they have plastic caps inserted?

To allow access to the height adjustment of the rollers.

Yes, I have been wondering the same. I don't know if the installer forgot to add them or if that's just option. However, I've ordered some online.

Thank you for the explanation. So then nothing speaks against covering them.

If you cover them then all the insects and reptiles living inside can not get out for their recreation program.

But you should adjust the wheels on the screen, the photo shows that at least one is off the track.
