May First Lazada Seller Scam.

Featured Replies

I have been using Lazada to buy products for years now and mostly no problems.

I recently ordered a specialised cable on Lazada from China costing 726 Baht with shipping. The parcel was delivered yesterday and contained 3 very small packs of tissue. Obviously nothing like what I had ordered and you wonder why. I just think cost them very little to send and its recorded as delivered and probably hope most people wont do anything about it.

I contacted seller but no reply, not even read. So raised return on Lazada so off to post tissue backs.

You bought with no previous ratings? schoolboy error it seems, what's the seller rating and quantity of products?

Lazada have started recommending that you make a video of the unpacking as evidence that you didn't get what you paid for.

As the pack was very small and didn't feel like a cable I actually made a video but was too big to submit.

Hang on to it anyway, at least until you get a refund.

I had the same situation with a laptop bought on Lazada from a Chinese vendor...got a plastic necklace.  I made sure to document everything, including packaging, label, and the contents.    The Chinese seller tried one final trick.  After I reported it he sent me a message saying the necklace was an apology gift because the shipment was late and please cancel the refund request because it will be delivered in two days by special courier.  Of course, no special courier ever showed up.

Learned my lesson.  Nothing now from "Overseas" sellers.

I have to post it to Lazada Thailand Warehouse.

I have had a few items from overseas and been ok. So need to be mush more careful now.

I meant hang on to the video, not the package.

If having Windows on computer, use MS ClipChamp, to resize vid, then export in 720p or 480p format, and should reduce the size.   Did the same thing the other day, as a PM2.5 meter I ordered was not very accurate.

Hard at times, but always try to order from a 'LAZMALL' vendor or 'flagship' store of manufacturer.

Lazada has been great and seemingly free of scammers, but like many things here it will probably take the same path, unfortunately

I never look at ratings, they are biased and it is too easy to fix them.

Also, Lazada does not accept zero ratings or negative comments.

That's easily fixed. On Linux I use avidemux to shrink the size. Windows, ???

You can reduce the size by making it into clips or adjusting the video size.

no problem with free returns from your location with lazads

Scam or mistake? That’s the real question. I order a lot from them and do look at the rating and reviews. I have only had a couple send me the wrong item, but it was quickly resolved.

I think a bit hard to mistake 3 very small packs of tissues worth about 5 baht for a 700 baht cable.

That's not how it works. You return the package and they refund you the money once their satisfied with your claim. It's always worked for me when an error has occurred.

I try to buy on Lazmall vendors only and with high satisfaction ratings and avoid if I can anything being shipped from overseas, china in particular

What telling someone what they should be checking, don't be a jerk yourself

Incorrect, i leave negative ratings, sometimes 1*,  looking at low ratings is more important than the 5* ratings. Also need to look at the seller, if buyers don't even do that they can't complain

Advising someone what that should do is ok but saying " schoolboy error it seems" implies person only of schoolboy intelligence.

it's an old phrase to indicate a kinda basic newbie error, you should know that

Valid point on seller ratings - alway best to check

I'm not sure if I've misunderstood you here: I've always used my credit-card on my Lazada account (comes straight out of that) - I've never had to 'press received' to release any payment, payment is automatic.

Op will get his money back anyway - I've been scammed on Lazada to the tune of a few thousand baht (ordered a decent bicycle saddle and received a rubbish phone case) - money was refunded within a few weeks.

Defo a scam...   its the growing issue with the world...

More and more and more scammers everywhere - its as if the whole worlds morality is going down the toilet.

We were just at a 'travel fare' trying to get some deals on a week get away.

I was at home (with Son), Wife popped out and did the rounds in the busy market hall...

She found a few places started asking questions - we had what seemed a decent rate (we were on a call at the time) - I had to get her to ask the same very specific question 3x...     The sales guy clearly avoiding answering the 'specific' question about the exact room type (missing out one key part of the room name.

- In short the sales guy was trying to mislead us - selling us the smaller room while trying misleading us into thinking we were getting a much better room...

- I asked to see the vouchers and he was reluctant...  (alarm bells).

- He reluctantly showed the voucher which showed the smaller room..

- I told my wife to walk away, the sales guy was a liar (hopefully he heard that on the call).

If I was there I would have enjoyed grabbing his throat !!! - and thats the issue, we can't behave like that obviously...  But in todays world, people all over are free to scam anyone anywhere, it seems without any retribution whatsoever.
