I'm not sure if I've replied to this topic, but I'm pretty sure Russia won't agree to any kind of ceasefire unless there's an actual deal that gives Russia the security it wants.  In this context that means no NATO in Ukraine and no European troops in Ukraine, regardless of what costumes they're wearing.  AndI'm pretty sure Russia won't make any deal with Zelenskyy at this juncture.  He's not a legitimate president, is he?   

 

Anyway, that's my take.  There'll be a deal on Russia's terms or there will be no deal.  Trump knows the war is over, and he wants the killing to stop.

Russia does not need security. I think we'll see a large arms buildup, US mining interests' and some number of peacekeeping NATO troops in Ukraine.

 

Russia goes back to 2019 boarders.

1. Putin is and has employed neo-Nazi troops in his war against Ukraine.

 

2. Putin is and has supported Neo-Nazi groups in Europe. 
 

The first is an example of his hypocrisy, the latter an example of him setting g up the very pretext he relies upon to justify his invasion of Ukraine.

You can bet that there will be no NATO troops of any kind.  Russia absolutely needs security.  Do you understand why?  There used to be short and intermediate range missile treaties that Trump cancelled.  That left Russia at the mercy of whatever missiles NATO might place in Ukraine within striking distance of Russia strategic assets in Russia.  For them, it's an existential issue and it's going to be done their way.

 

As for England and France and their pledge of billions to fight Russia?  Everyone knows that's a joke.  They don't have the money and they don't have the troops.  It's over.

I think that was done during Trump's first term.  I'm not sure of the circumstances or the reasoning.

Trump is obliged to release the funding previously approved via Congress. So while Russia  continues to progress to the territorial borders of "annexed " objectives the Ukrainian defense forces will be obliged to martyr themselves to the predetermined plan.

I looked it up.  The real reason Trump did this during his first term likely had a lot to do with the fact that, like today, he has surrounded himself with people who are intent on continuing the Neocon fantasy of the endless war.  John Bolton back in 2018, and Rubio, today.  Anyway, the sooner Trump gets rid of Rubio, the better.  I suspected be was trouble from day one.

 

As for missiles in Poland?  Look at it this way: Russia won't stop the war until it is safe from missiles that can attack strategic assets in Russia.  If necessary, Russia will continue the war to the point of eliminating Ukraine as a nation state, and will move on to Poland, if necessary.  

 

Bottom line: the Neocons surrounding Trump have got to go. The alternative is more killing for no good reason.

Expect Vlad to counter offer.

The meeting supposedly lasted over 9 hours and In the end, there were just 3 or 4 conditions. Ceasefire along the front lines and cessation of air and marine attacks, exchange of POWS and civilians, return of kidnapped children (lol).

 

These conditions could have been discussed and agreed in 30 mins or so. I wonder what they spent the rest of the time discussing.

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if no NATO membership is one of the hidden conditions. After all, Ukraine had already agreed to this back in March/April 2022 but the promise of continued support made Zelensky walk away from that deal. Now Trump has said no more support and Ukraine has no more cards left to play, thankfully.

We can expect this ceasefire negotiation to drag on and on with both sides countering their offers. We can also expect Trump to keep changing his mind on how he will deal with either sides to push his agenda. Zelensky has been strategic in dealing with Trump and has got the restoration of military aids and also intelligence sharing with clever flattery. Putin will make a mockery of Trump ceasefire plan and will keep delaying to pursue military goals. Trump's pledge of ending the war in day one will have to meet Putin's realty. He has been played.

The reason was that the U.S. assessed that it would need such missiles against China.

 

Then you deflect about the fact that there is no need to put these missiles in Ukraine. Just in case your imaginary threat from NATO would be anything else than Russian propaganda! 🙂
