Cursed from the get go with that boat's name.   Probably the fire was started by rough seas.   Assuming divers are good swimmers how does one just go missing?   Hope she

Again. Brits just can’t get enough. Stay home. If you insist on coming to Thailand, research.  Do your homework. It breaks my heart, but stop falling in quicksand!  Just stop!  WTF is wrong with Brits

Yep, but they are in the news for the elderly getting beaten up by bouncers or idiots getting caught with drugs....

... Not for innocent 'young back-packers' mysteriously dying or disappearing...

What PPE does a dive boat actually need ???

Life Jackets / Fire Extinguishers / Lifebuoys / Flairs  -   this boat could easily have had all this...

There were only 2 that were murdered and that was 11 years ago, the other 'suspicious' deaths are nothing of the sort when you actually have the facts, mostly misadventure due to alcohol,  however when living 5000 miles away in Perth, Australia  you are free to make up total fantasy stories without fear of the police arresting you for defamation or slander.

P.s There is a bit more in pattaya than that old man getting a slap..nightly fights, many stabbings and robberies, balcony falls and much more.

As it happens, no amount of the safety equipment would have helped.

Fair point - a lot of what 'occurs' could be put down to the behavior of 'youth'...  where as the Pattaya flyers club is down to age etc...   different area's attract different people who get up to different things...

That said:  A number suspicious events have occurred on Koh Tao with the notoriety of the Island originating from the Miller / Witheridge deaths

Like I said, you can make up anything BS and spread it online, especially when you have friends in British media.

I could go through all of those you listed  with facts, that for some reason were omitted from the sensationalised stories you may have read, but I can't be arsed repeating myself to someone that has already made their mind up.

For those that actually live on Tao know its total crap, however, the place has never been so busy, so as the say no publicity is bad publicity!

Rescue divers from the Songkhla Naval Base, in coordination with the Kusol Sattha Foundation on Koh Tao, continue their search for a missing British woman following a dive boat fire off the coast of the island. Despite an extensive underwater search around the sunken vessel, there has been no sign of the missing tourist.

On 17 March, the Royal Thai Navy’s Second Fleet joined the search operation, supporting the Maritime Enforcement Command Centre (MECC) in their efforts. A transport helicopter carrying navy divers was deployed to Samui Naval Station, while Patrol Boat T.113 transported additional divers directly to Koh Tao.

Upon arrival, navy divers from the Songkhla Naval Base worked alongside rescue divers from the Kusol Sattha Foundation to plan the search around the sunken boat. The diving operation commenced at 13:40 and concluded at 15:40, lasting two hours. However, no trace of the missing woman was found, leading authorities to suspend the underwater search.

Search efforts will continue on March 18, focusing on surface surveillance and search. Boats will be dispatched to scan the area around the incident site, while local fishermen and vessels in the vicinity have been asked to remain vigilant. Authorities urge anyone who spots signs of the missing tourist to report the location immediately.

The investigation into the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
