Everything he touches turns to "Cats" -- how Trump is ruining the Kennedy Center

Americans anyway -- remember your high school days?
Perhaps you were even a theater kid. (I was.)

Remember the kind of G rated pablum shows that the school administration allowed to be done and what kinds of shows were deemed too edgy for high school?

Not saying that was all that horrible. Fun for the kids and there was an audience for that in even the most unsophisticated backwaters of America.

But the premier arts institution of a supposedly becoming "greater" country?

Seriously?

Obviously Trump cares and knows nothing about the arts. Yet he did this hostile total takeover of the Kennedy Center.

To do what? To stage G rated shows that he remembers from his youth which have basically no audience at the Kennedy Center level?

Add to that his fascist style wiping of the actually great artistic history of the Center.

People -- this is stupid. This is disgusting. And this will fail.

Takeover? Not really. Kill it -- more like it.

Trump is about to learn an awkward lesson about his influence at the Kennedy Center

Don’t cry for him, America, but when it comes to his vision for the Kennedy Center, President Donald J. Trump appears to be dreaming impossible dreams.

The president, who is also now the board chair for the Kennedy Center, convened a meeting of said board on Monday. In a recording of the meeting shared with The Washington Post, Trump and members said they’d like to see “Camelot,” “Cats,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “The Phantom of the Opera” featured at the Kennedy Center. Speaking with reporters, Trump said, “We’re going to get some very good shows.”

Hopefully he can fix american education in the short time he has remaining. At the current rate id rather my kids be educated in thai universities than the brainwashing they receive here. You can include your topic in that as well

A columnist in the Washington Post recently said that Trump will probably rename Washington DC to Trump DC.

He's morphing very rapidly beyond wannabe at this point.

Yes many maga fascists love that.

But lots of his suckered voters didn't have a clue what they were going to get. It's hard to have sympathy for them as it was totally obvious to anyone paying any attention.

Charles Strouse, who wrote the music for 'Annie' and 'Bye Bye Birdie', died recently at age 96. In his NY Times obit it noted:

Some of Mr. Strouse’s numbers became so ubiquitous that they seemed revered and reviled by the public in equal measure. Each response in its own way was a badge of honor.

There was the time, for instance, that a stranger accosted Mr. Strouse at a party.

“If I have to hear my daughter sing ‘Tomorrow’ one more time,” he thundered, “I’m going to kill myself — and you!”
