Can you offer something useful?

How about a single Earthquake thread as it has affected pretty much all of Thailand except the south, not to mention Myanmar and Laos.

I felt it too in Phitsanulok about 13.30. A very strange feeling.

Bangkok had a big earthquake today. I thought I was fainting as I almost fell down. The I looked outside and saw dust flying off of high rise buildings. My building shook a lot and everyone but me ran for the street level. My heart couldn't survive walking down many floors and then walking back up many floors so I stayed put.

Haven't heard anything except the elevators working again and some maids talking.

It was very scary.

My fish pool spilled water all over the terrace

My wife got vertigo. She was cooking lunch and the noodles went over the pan and onto the worktop

I spent some time comforting her - she is still feeling scared

I timed it here (as close to 1.20pm as makes no difference0- like others commenting, I thought at very first I was having a stroke and hung on to my desk.

If it really was 7.7, that's a big deal.  Are there known faults in that area?

Let's hope that wasn't a warm up for something even bigger.

Update] The National Institute for Emergency Medicine reports that at least 43 workers may be trapped in the collapsed building.

That explains what I experienced here in Pattaya about half hour ago.

I was working outside the house, and when I was near the pool suddenly the pool water started moving up and down, by about 5-10 cm.

There noticed some air out of the returns as well, although I didn't feel anything.

Hope the pool or tubing didn't develop a crack

Even a thread about an earthquake felt in Lampang is not immune from Americans shouting about American politicians.

1:20 in Lampang

1:35 in Bangkok

An easy measurement of the speed of the earthquake.

Not as easy as you think but agree about the shouting bit.

That's interesting. How long before planes go that fast?
