Yes exactly. It's not Trump, it's not Thailand it's you. Your life is a mirror of your actions.

I'm starting to think OP has his queries on a 3 month queue alarm, to repost the same query ever 3 months :coffee1:

... 40k a month

... now 'what do you do'

... what next, hobbies, breakfast, blood test, another destination he'll never visit, if ever came to TH :coffee1:

I've said this repeatedly to all my friends when they first hit Thailand. Most arrive as tourists and then become expats. If you keep on living the life a of a tourist your health and wealth will decrease dramatically.

Excellent point

And how does your life then change?

Looking for alternatives?

Cheaper expats only bars?

Becoming more of a homebody ?

Cooking more at home ?

Going to beach road to pick up ladies ?

If you don't have a routine here it's because you either don't want a routine, or you're not disciplined enough to have a routine.

Mistake number one, getting up and going to a bar at 9:00 a.m. You revealed everything about yourself that we all need to know. Australia sounds like a good fit for ya.

It depends how you live. Train trips are dirt cheap. You can walk to a mountain view.

Bars don't open at 9am in Australia. They also don't have attractive women in them that will date a 65yo dude. I know a rich old dude and even he dates ugly. It is impossible to date hot unless you are young and good looking or famous.

Well my life changed after the first 2 years when I no longer needed a short time every night, and sometimes in the afternoon.

Do you have some tips or recommendation for equipment  to digitise 35mm film negatives..I tried with a flatbed scanner and it is horribly slow  and cumbersome.

Yes my mistake, your posts indicate your a 23yo male who has retired from the  SAS and now living the good life on the war pension

Thankyou for your service Sir , especially at your young age and the sacrifice you made .

One thing that fascinates me is when people mention the brand name of something like you mentioned ray bands ,I often wonder why you don't just say sunglasses ,

I noticed you also used Honda,I'm surprised you didn't use the brand name for the flip flops too ?

I guess you being only 23 your generation may be brand obsessed so instead of saying the product you say the brand name

I had a acquaintance years ago who used to say the brand name of everything rather than the product

He would say Pascal's instead of candy or his "camel " shirts instead of just a shirt

I will wear my camel today he says

I wonder what the fascinating subject brand names have in people's dialogue

GG brings up a good point. I think many here try to validate their lives by making it sound like it's filled with activities. Some of us here have decided to start a second family which keeps me relatively busy.

I can completely see how living single in a condo in Pattaya could lead to excessive drinking. I occasionally take the big bike on a ride to Pattaya for a few beers on Soi Bukhao, sit there at a beer bar watching the other foreigners scurrying about and think to myself how lucky I am to not have that kind of life. All the time wondering why I didn't just pack my ice chest and go to my local beach.

Better to walk with a walking frame than a mob.

ROFL, taking a woman to a Somtam restaurant and claiming it is the best. You really haven't got a clue.

You don't even have the ability to master being a happy few week tourist so why would any expat living here pay attention to your incoherent rambling assumptions regarding their lives.

Is why retirement is usually the killer in people their life, they are so used to be a modern slave they never realized they didn't have any real life other than that. To then add on top meager pensions they live on.

I doubt with today's tech my plan will stand by the time I reach that ago though but we live in strange times. But as for now I purposely do things in IT as well in Finance, because there would be little to stop be doing this until i basically die. Same as buffet does.

People need things to do, they need a routine etc. If that all fades, it's like putting old people in elderly homes, you can be sure they die soon (exceptions for those with families visiting twice a week etc but still like being send off to prison death camp).

If you go to Lazada they have film scanners. I bought one from them to scan negatives and it does a good job. There are lots of different makes with varying prices. Mine does negative film and 35mm slides

Might surprise you but there are people who make enough money to have an enjoyable life while working and when retired.
