Do the Rohingyas speak English, have an education level, and enough wealth that they wouldn't be a multi-billion $$$ drain on US taxpayers for years, even decades?

Because the white Afrikaners do.  I don't think we'd see many of them on the dole.

Many could be just draft dodgers like Mr Trump and Mr Musk?

Stubborn, bigoted, English speaking, educated and very employable.  And not at minimum wage, where they'd displace Americans that need those entry level jobs.

In South Africa there is no focus on white farmers per se. Farmers of any nationality are at risk. The attacks stem from rural insecurity and a level of lawlessness that pervades rural settings, attacks are not related to racism.

You might be getting mixed up with Zimbabwe.

No.  It's South Africa.  Though it may be happening in Zimbabwe, too.  Google South Africa white farmers.

More than 10,000 white South African farmers have expressed interest in relocating to the United States following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.

We can't afford to save the whole world by inviting them in for free stuff on the US taxpayer dime.  But saving the ones that cost us less than zero is (or should be) a no-brainer.

Why White farmers only?

White=good

Black =bad?

Sounds like pure racism to me.

What is next?

10 000 White people coming in and 10 000 Black people send to SA?

What are these farmers going to grow?Soy beans?

Seems odd .........only 18% of SA farmers are white........yet only the white farmers are receiving this offer to escape the rural violence and killings.

You don't even understand the terminology do you? "Afrikaner" refers to the descendants of the original Dutch colonists in South Africa. There are no black Afrikaners, the term is used exclusively for white people.

Correction noted.

But it doesn't change the facts.  67,000 skilled SA workers have expressed interest in emigrating to the USA.  You may want to ask yourself why.   And why shouldn't the USA welcome skilled workers who want to flee their gub'ment?

Since you have the stats at your finger tips:

1. Number of skilled Russians wishing to emigrate to the US

2. Number of skilled Indians wishing to emigrate to the US

3. Number of skilled Chinese wishing to emigrate to the US

Who knows why those South Africans want to leave. Jobs and prospects is probably the main reason, in common with the majority of emigrants anywhere in the world.

About 5 million Americans choose to not live in America. Why is that?

If we are taking a survey of people who "want" to emigrate (as opposed to actually do it), also discuss a similar shonkey survey;

The Immigration Advice Service’s latest report finds that an astonishing 25% of Americans are considering relocating internationally, with Google searches like “moving abroad” and “how to emigrate” also hitting record highs in 2024.

Interest in leaving the U.S. is particularly strong in cities along the East and West coasts, with 47% of Los Angeles residents and 35% of New Yorkers mulling over a move overseas. Demographics reveal that younger Americans, especially those between 16 and 24, are the most inclined to leave—40% in this age bracket are eyeing emigration, compared to just 14% of those aged 55 and older.

67,000 sounds like a big number, consider the Freedom Front Plus Party, the Afrikaner successor to Volksfront, picked up 220,000 votes at the last election. There are 4.5 million white South Africans. Your anonymous survey indicates 1.5% of White South Africans are thinking about emigration. which in reality means less than 0.5% will follow though. Unless you truely believe 25% of Americans are about to emigrate,  Remarkably, the same is quoted for Brits; 23% say wouldn't mind emigrating (https://ifamagazine.com/23-of-brits-plan-to-move-abroad-heres-where-their-money-goes-furthest/). 70% of young Irish want to go (https://www.agriland.ie/farming-news/research-70-of-young-irish-people-contemplate-emigrating/)

In a Gallup survey, 16% of the globe believe the grass is greener on the other side. In some cases, it is.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/652748/desire-migrate-remains-record-high.aspx

Of course, the percentages are fairly meaningless, except to indicate that there is a natural human desire to be dissatisfied with their lot. Most on this forum, if not all, fall into that Lot. As do you.

If you are a South African, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, in all likelyhood, by current definitions, your ancestors might have been illegal immigrants someplace.

Maybe they can buy the $5 million "Gold Card"?

trump has previously bemoaned the fact that we didn't attract more immigrants from "nice" countries like Switzerland and Norway.

Quite so, also George W Bush and Mitt Romney, not a president, but relevant!

He was never not in favour....just do it by the numbers.

I remember that certain folks were really concerned when Clinton became President. They were really unhappy with his draft dodging status. That was also when the US came the closest to abolishing the draft post Jimmy Carter.

I'd argue that Clinton wasn't really a draft dodger though. He legitimately deferred because he wanted to finish his education at Oxford, but came back in August 1969 and signed up. Now, he could have applied for UK citizenship or French citizenship and moved to avoid it, but he didn't. He stayed and signed up for the draft. It's not his fault that he got a high draft number and never got called.

Joe Biden I didn't know about, but he got a 1-Y - so he got a valid medical exemption. Seems like it was for asthma, but keep in mind that disqualifies you from joining the US military even today: https://www.usamm.com/blogs/news/can-you-join-the-military-with-asthma

(Canada will let you join but that was very recent, that changed only a few months ago,  https://www.cbc.ca/lite/story/1.7465456 )

W. Bush actually served in the US military during the Vietnam war. Musk wasn't a US citizen back then - he didn't even arrive to the US until 1995. So he couldn't have dodged the US draft (he wouldn't have been eligible to join even if he had wanted to).

Mitt Romney didn't serve but he was acting as a missionary in France. Forcing a person in that position to join the army and take up arms with intent to kill somehow just doesn't sit right, unless one is trying to argue that Romney should have been drafted to serve as a military chaplain or something...

So only with the current President would I really take issue. If he had a legitimate reason, like Clinton (who had many options to avoid the draft yet tried join but just lucked out) or Romney (who was trying to answer a higher calling at the time) or Biden (who had a legitimate disqualifying medical condition), then I wouldn't. But according to https://vietfactcheck.org/2020/09/15/did-trump-dodge-the-vietnam-war-draft/ he faked an injury to avoid the draft. That's a problem in my book. But for this guy... sadly that's par for the course. So sad.

White farmers in South Africa are being murdered regularly, and have been so for many years. The liberal left elite choose not to report this. Shameful.
