I don't like many of Trump's policies, but I have a wait and see attitude because no one knows the future. I give him until summer of 2026, because if things aren't good by then he will lose the mid-terms and will never get any bill passed again.

The Smoot- Hawley tariffs of June 1930 were almost immediate in their impact on trade. Purchasing and trade decisions were affected within another month, and it only took 3 months for retaliatory tariffs to start biting back. America has been in decline for decades. Maybe not for some, but it's undisputed that the middle class is no longer what it was in the 50s and 60s.
