Depends where you are. Not many weirdos in Nong Khai or Chiang Mai. I prefer to eat at night. These cities are great for a walk at night.

I clicked nights but I've now changed my mind to days... During the day is better for holidays at the beach and checking out pretty women in the shopping malls. At night, sure there's beer, but the type of eye candy I like generally dont go out. There are also more mozzies.

I avoid the dunks, nutty drivers & mozzies by not being out at night.  Usually wake before sunrise.

I think you needed to add single or married to the poll :coffee1:

Yes that's fair. Beach areas better in the day. The inland cities better at night.

On the beach around 0800 for a walk or perhaps some beers and hits on the beach before noon. Always up around 0530, just feels good getting up early.

Whatever anyone thinks, there's not much doubt that it's like day and night.  Two different realities, for all practical purposes.

During the day?  The people that are out and about are the people that have to be, other than the people at the beach for some sunshine or people that have business to do, like going to the bank or the grocery store.

At night? People seemingly come out of the woodwork. The city is transformed.  People everywhere, and there's magic in the air.  Anything can happen.

I like both.  What are you looking for?

Way too hot during the day.

Mornings are nice to get some sun. I actually met a local who never goes out to get sun and just takes Vitamin D supplements. That's one way to live I guess. Especially if you're a vampire.

And also evenings are nice. Weather is perfect. As previous poster mentioned, there's a nice vibe walking out and about in the evenings.

But I don't stay up until 2 AM. Then dangerous people who have been drinking are around

causing problems.

When travelling in Thailand we are out from morning for a walk or at gym before breakfest, out for lunch and dinner, so would say all day and dinner for 2-3 hours.

I also agree the temperature and markets are better at night. The only real night market near me though is spoiled by someone shouting through a microphone trying to get donations for the temple all night, every night. It's also no alcohol. I'd like to have something like the night markets in Hua Hin, like the cicada and tamarind markets, which are very nice places to chill with good energy.

I prefer nights. Cooler plus food markets.

Early morning, that time between 6am and 9am, cool, bright and perfect for cycling in the rural countryside.

I'm a night owl but in Thailand I feel it's a little too dangerous to be out past 11:00 PM.

You not look at social media, a daily occurrence in Phuket and Pattaya

If your life is in and about beer bars and red light districts, yes,

When I traveled more frequently to Patong and Pattaya there where occasionally stupid dead drunks who got beaten up for various reasons, or some alpha males who thought they could handle escalated situations,

Except that Thailand is one if the safest countries to be stupid and get away with it statistically if you know when to stop acting stupid.

You can easily avoid that by not going to those areas, or even if you do go to those areas , just walk away when things get boisterous

Must be a Pattaya thing. I've walked around all other cities at night and it's peaceful.

It's not a problem confined to Thailand. In fact, I'm not so sure Thailand has a big problem in that regard.  Thailand can all seem pretty safe, even late at night.

I remember living in NYC in the mid 70s. A different situation, entirely.  I spent a lot of time out late, but when I came home I took a cab and didn't linger around outside. But it was no big secret when the bars closed.  All sorts of drunk idiots out and about making all sorts of noise. That was Greenwich Village. You'd have to be crazy to go out walking around at that time of nigh in that location. You'd be safer in Times Square, as crazy as that was back then.

Both... I sleep feck all if I dont take e meds.

In what way dangerous?

Often, I will wake early early  morning and jump on the bike and go for a cruise round the brightside.
