Our first "flood relief"  was just delivered.

Small boy with a cart brought us two packs of bottled water.

He went away with a 4 pack of yoghurt and a huge smile!!

  • Yet another donation of flooding aid, this one apparently from their Majesties the King and Queen (hence their photo).   My son from the UK being used as a beast of burden.

Ko Kret peak this evening, slightly up on yesterday but reasonably stable.

Waiting for the high tides later this week with bated breath (and wetsuit with snorkel).

A similar story at Pathum Thani.

EDIT 8.30AM  Village head has just been on the speakers saying that sand and bags will be available later today. Suggesting that there may be more dampness on the way. Big tides are Thursday-Saturday.

Peak this morning, should be the larger of two humps. Unless there's a major change I won't publish hump 2.

Added Pathum Thani and floodcam, dipstick is fairly stable at 50cm below "Worry".

Local khlong clearing crew have been removing the floating water-hyacynth to help drainage.

Chop it up with the prop then push it out into the river, Bangkok can have it :whistling:

Noisy basket had no silencer on the long-tail!!

I've always wondered about these pictures.

So is that a khlong that runs between the houses?  So inside the purple is a khlong and in dry season the green area is normally terra firma?

Another online level monitoring camera, Rangsit (Saphan Daeng Pier) this time https://www.ipcamlive.com/68c13eaeec104 note that this camera is on Khlong Rangsit which has sluice gates to the river.

Pretty much, although "terra rather squishy" is more accurate than terra firma unless the river is really low.

Image from Google Maps with reference points. The blue "house" marker indicates Baan Crossy.

Same location in slightly less damp times although the river is actually quite high.

Dipstick continues it's downwards trend at 73cm below "Worry", hopefully this isn't the calm before the mega-flood.

OK. I was going to ask if you saw variation with the tides. I guess the answer is yes, a bit. Was this after the lowest of the day?

Yeah, that was peak-low.

The Ko Kret cam allows you to replay so searching for the max/min is easy.

Thanks. Tides will start to spring again in about 10 days but next cycle not as high as recently. Not sure if the rain might slow down yet.

Hope you stay dry (except for beer)!

Madam's Oracle (OK, a woman at the Wat who "knows these things") says the water will go down after Loy Kratong (Nov 5th).

That's as good a prediction as any other :whistling:

Is Koh Kret accessible right now?
