Can anyone tell me if the Bangkok Ring Road extension crossing the river to go South is open yet? If not, can you recommend a road route by car from East BKK (Minburi) through BKK to get to Rachaburi and southwards. I usually drive West through the north of the city and over the river and link up with Ring Road West picking up the road to Kanchanaburi then turning South on Hwy 4 but it's a rat race.

I don't believe that construction has even begun on that bridge across the river, has it?
