I wish these actors would just collect their awards and leave the stage.

Who gives a flying *uck about their political opinions.

Jon Voight? James Woods? Kevin Sorbo?

He is a courageous man who speaks truth to power, and neither Trump, nor his devotees can stand that truth. I admire him for that. Someone needs to call the goon out on his reckless policies and callo

That's the problem. His acting is no longer strong enough to forget who he is.

I don't see the character. I see De Niro playing a character. We all decline with age.

Like boxers it is sometimes best to bow out in your prime. Nobody wants a ruined legacy.

Fair take — and yeah, it’s true that age hits everyone, actors included.

Nah.

He is a great actor and talent, but he needs to stick to his lane.

Free speech and all that?

One day, you'll find yourself in the wrong lane and you won't have a clue how it happened.

But maybe it's happened already.

This is news?

DeNiro has the "it" which does not officially exist, and he has it really really bad. He will start aging in fellow sufferer Kathy Griffin years soon if he doesn't snap out of it soon.

Presumably Mel Gibson, Roseanne Barr, James Woods, Jon Voight are also washed up actors who's views are a complete irrelevance, and they should also learn to shut their mouths.

As I recall, Mel is making another movie about Christ.  But of course you would never tell anyone, would you?

Is this with a Scottish or Aussie accent?

Gibson, De Niro, Pacino, Grant, Dyer, Pitt, Voight, Woods, Barr et al, all have Freedom of Expression and can say what they like. The British approach is the correct one; the government has no right to interfere in your freedom of expression. But you have no right to be heard.
