Ooopsie.   Visitors are staying away and it is beginning to have an impact. 😮‍💨

https://weekly.visualapproach.io/p/canada-s-american-pullback  The analysis suggests a 30% decline in Canadian visitors to Florida. Other tourist destinations are being hit too.

The UK is the 2nd most important source of visitors to Florida after Canada. Florida Tourist Board Reveals Drop In U.K. Visitor Numbers   https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinereid/2025/04/11/florida-tourist-board-reveals-drop-in-uk-visitor-numbers/

Many border cities and states say they’re feeling the absence of Canadians. Retail stores, hotels, restaurants, and airlines are all seeing the effects.

“Well, we now have the border crossing numbers for Champlain for March and, as anticipated, car crossings were down 31% compared with March 2024,” Garry Douglas, president of the North Country Chamber of Commerce, said. “Visitation was down 16% in February but we knew March was the month that tariffs and counter-tariffs hit, along with a heightened sense that many of our northern friends and neighbors would avoid travel to the U.S. for now.”

“Thirty-one per cent is a lot, particularly when it’s on a number that we roughly estimate is more than $300 million a year in spending by Canadians just in the immediate Plattsburgh area,” said Chamber of Commerce President Garry Douglas.

Hostile threats  have consequences. Upstate New York votes Republican. Florida votes Republican. May they enjoy their payoff.

So you've evidently bought into the obvious falsehood that all illegal immigrants are violent criminals

Evidently you have put words into the posters mouth.

Do share with the class where the poster said all illegal immigrants are violent  criminals.....

Anecdotal evidence

My brother and his wife have a winter place in Yuma AZ.

They sold it at a loss this last winter along with 14 other Canadian couples that sold their winter homes in that immediate area.

Never to return.

I just flew back to the States two days ago on United. The flight from Japan to SF was only 80% full. I fly back every year at this time, and this is the first non-full flight I have been on in 10 years. A funny side note: It is also the first flight that made people change their seats to balance the plane.

Some of the National parks are interesting, but never really understood why people want to holiday there.

Many say they want to go to New York?

Gigantic, chaotic, overcrowded way too expensive Bangkok is better I think.

The border has never been wide open. It's still open the same as it was before, without asylum grants. People come in every day, have for decades, and will continue until rich Americans are stopped from hiring illegal workers.

I've flown a few times back and forth where seats were vacant. Two times I had the whole three seats to myself and could sleep. Many times I've had a seat next to me vacant. It all depends on times and seasons.

Germans are big on nature and hiking.

The only reason to visit the USA IMHO is Nature and Parks. Go to NYC just to see it I guess.

Poeple dont realize how big the USA is.

I don't dispute that. I fly back at the same time every year.

Very clear. I lived in Texas 32 years, and saw, and heard, all about the amount that came in and the amount they thought came in. From border patrol agets who came into mys tore to buy guns and ammo. San Antonio area, close to the border. No one knows, and no president will ever control the illegals coming in until, again, they stop who's hiring them.

And some don't realize that the US has everything anyone could want, all in one place. The same reasons people go to other countries, besides to experience a certain culture.

Thats why Americans dont do international travel. Oktoberfest? Go to Wisconsin. Songkran/Songkrata? Long Beach. Chinese New Year? NYC, SF, LA.

Plus music festivals, fairs, Nascar, ski resorts for EVERRYONE (not just the posh crowds), snowmachining, fishing, gator hunting, machine gunning, famers markets, Disney, museums....

True, but Americans do international travel, to see the other sights and cultures. 100 million a year. I still want to see some of Europe because of that scenery and actually having the ethnic food while there. A lot of history came from Europe.

7 years ago, and visit yearly the last 4. I lived right next to San Antonio. The border patrol has a station in San Antonio. You see them all the time, and I talked with them weekly. I hunted in south Texas a lot, saw illegals all the time.

Oh dont get me wrong, I love International travel and new sights and experiences. Instead of seeing deer and bear, I get to see snakes and lizards.

But at the same time Im considering a one man motor home and heading cross country USA with no destination.
