Not to minimize what sounds like a horrible experience (which sounds out of the ordinary) for you, I think crossing the road (assuming that's what you were doing) can be dangerous almost anywhere in Thailand. When I see cars driving badly/dangerously in Pattaya, I more often than not, notice the license plate is from outside Chonburi and usually Bangkok.
jimn Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 2 hours ago, Gottfrid said: So, you think it´s ok to move to another country, and the main population is still like home? Hurray! What a difference! This is hilarious! You talk like just another cool dude, that thinks it´s classy and hot to live in Pattaya, and think nobody that post it something wrong know anything and never been there because they are isolated in a small village somewhere. Are you serious? First, How many years have you lived in Thailand? I have over 27 by now. That, my dear, tells the story of somebody who have lived in many places. I tried Pattaya for 2,5 years. I didn´t like it. Not even 15 years ago. I also moved to Bangsaen and lived there for a little bit over 1 year. It was better, but still not ok. So, you see, I have experience. For about 10 years now, I live out in Isaan, in a small town. However, I frequently visit all from Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Rayong, and a lot of islands that the whole family enjoy. That, makes me know how it is today as well and how it has turned out. So, you see, no bedsit anywhere, and not really in Nakon Nowhere as you like to call it. On top of that, lived there, done that, still travel a lot. My reply was about people in general not specifically you. But as you made it personal I will engage. Of course it's not right to engage in any criminal activity, the point is that it was happening years ago as well, but nowadays we know about it because of social media. Most people post about Pattaya with limited or no personal experience. I don't suggest anything other than it's a great place to live. I am not talking about the inner city but the whole area Pattaya encompasses. My original post if you had read it properly stated I have lived here 12 years. Obviously you prefer not to live here but with your limited recent knowledge does not give you the right to make trash comments like "Pattaya is a crime ridden, foreign infested hellhole! Finally like I said, people who live in Nackon Nowhere which translates to "A small town in Issan" You are obviously an older person like myself, but someone stuck in the past, unlike me who is able to adapt and change with the times.
Sandboxer Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Meh, nothingburger. As another member pointed out, the chances of a normal well adjusted human being being the victim of violence in Pattaya is near nil. Add some basic street smarts and situational awareness and it's really nil.

Some 18 international schools say otherwise--with another one, Highgate, scheduled to open next year. Regents celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Mind you, none of the international schools are on Walking Street. Nor are the vast majority of the families, who are all over Greater Pattaya in hundreds of nice housing projects, with many more being built.
sambum Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Well done Mr Sayan for taking the photo, and well done AN for publishing it. Too often we hear of the perpetrators of injustice leaving the scene and nobody has the foresight to take a "snap", which is bound to be a lot of help to the investigators. 1

Drugs fighting in bars and so on Going on there seems to be getting more regular 😳 When Thailand legalised weed shops it became a magnet to the world's undesirables. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with smoking a joint. It's about the impression it gives the outside world. There will be more drugs and fighting stories, because more druggies and trouble makers are now choosing Thailand.
