Condo Resident Releases Snake to Protest Against Dog Owner

Condo rules enforcement is about as effective as police enforcement of noise laws in Thailand.  Can't anybody do their job properly to avoid these scenarios?

Do dogs and snakes discriminate against renters?

If I'm renting I will never have a neighbour who owns a dog or snake?

You might have a neighbour who owns either or both, in which case you can easily move. Buy and it’s not so easy

I think I'm going mad. I can see two snakes in the picture, yes?

Then why are they constantly referred to as 'a snake'?

Most of the posters seem to be of a kind that would clearly understand the difference between 1 snake and 2 snakes, surely?

Or, more likely, I have gone mad and one of the snakes isn't real ............... but then, which one is real and which one isn't really there?

Maybe, one of them is actually the dog?

Maybe they don't.  But if you're a renter, you can just move if one of your neighbors turns out to be a knob.

Problem is, too many neighbors turn out to be knobs.  I want it quiet and left alone.   Others want it noisy and something going on all the time.

This begs a question. did this guy actually buy the snakes or went out catching them, just to release them in the condo complex? Or is the guy same guilty as the dog owner, and also keeping pets against the rules?

Gotfrid I always rent my snakes.Never buy !

it's easier to kick out a tenant than a condo owner. Also, there are usually rules in the lease that the would be-tenant must agree to.

Yeah, I agree but if you buy or rent in the slums you're going to have issues.

I chose an affluent, leafy, housing estate to buy in. I've never had any problems or issues

Maybe one day an affluent Chinese scammer will move in next door and set-up a scam centre

Maybe one day a hot horny chick moves next door and knocks on my door daily asking for sex.

Not necessarily.

This might depend upon the terms of your lease.

If you rent, for example, at the Dakota, then you will have far more control over when/if you move out... or are taken out

And, even though you probably will not find too many snakes in the hallways at the Dakota, ....

but.  you might get a Mark David Chapman

Also bought in one of the top estates in Chiang Mai at the time. Most owners, Thai and farang, were great and luckily dogs weren’t a problem. Only issue was the renting of the house out next door. Each successive tenant was an ass. You never know when someone will rent out their house.

I think keeping a snake as a pet would be okay as long as when you allow them to go out in public, like the hallways, they are on a leash - the same as a dog. 😉

You can just move if you are an owner, too.  Spouse and I have moved about a dozen times in Pattaya and once in Bangkok--from condos we owned.

Someday, soon, we will have armed robots on every street corner, throughout America.

And, there will be 20 armed robots distributed throughout the Dakota.

I can see the future.
