In Pattaya, authorities are on high alert following reports of two separate sexual assaults filed in quick succession this morning. The incidents, suspected to involve the same assailant, have prompted an urgent investigation by the Mueang Pattaya Police Station.

The first victim, a 20-year-old woman named Dao, reported her ordeal around 2:21 a.m. She recounted being attacked as she made her way to her bar job in Pattaya Soi 6 the previous evening. While crossing from Pattaya Beach, she encountered a man whose nationality she couldn’t discern due to his indeterminate accent, despite speaking Thai.

Dao reported that the man persuaded her to accompany him on his motorcycle to his accommodation but diverted to a dark alley in northern Pattaya. There, she was forcibly taken to an abandoned location at knifepoint, where the man allegedly raped her and stole her belongings, including cash, a mobile phone, and personal documents. After the assault, she reached her workplace to seek help.

Shortly after Dao's arrival at the police station, a 17-year-old girl, who has not been named, lodged a similar complaint. She described waiting for a ride on Pattaya Beach when approached by a man who seemingly mistook her for a sex worker. Despite clarifying her intentions, the man offered her a ride, which she accepted, only to be taken to a secluded forest area. He then demanded sex at knifepoint. The teenager bravely resisted and escaped, eventually reaching the police station with the aid of a passerby.

Given the timing and similarities of the two incidents, police suspect a single perpetrator is responsible. Officers are actively working to identify the suspect, though no clear leads have emerged yet.

These distressing cases have heightened concerns about safety in the area, prompting police to intensify their patrol and investigation efforts. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they seek to protect the community and bring the assailant to justice.

Both incidences happened where there should have been many cameras. So it would be easy to identify if they checked. Is there a follow-up to this story?

I am also curious why a 17 year old would accept a ride from someone who initially thought she was a sex worker. Perhaps there is something she is lying about due to her age.

At 2.20 in the morning? Going to work 😂. It's not a guess what she's about to do🥰

But wasn't it the safest country on Asia for women????
