The Thai government is ramping up oversight of non-degree courses at local colleges to curb their misuse by foreigners seeking to work illegally in the country. Deputy government spokesman Karom Phonphonklang announced on Sunday that new regulations from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation took effect on 14 May.

The regulations aim to ensure that non-degree course organisers possess the necessary expertise, course content, and qualified lecturers. Courses are capped at a maximum duration of 180 days, with a stipulation that at least 60% of the content must be delivered onsite.

Additionally, organisers must report detailed information about their foreign students to the ministry, including student numbers, qualifications, attendance, and school locations. They are also required to provide monthly updates on the learning progress of their students.

Non-compliance with these new regulations will result in organisers being compelled to discontinue their non-degree courses. These measures are intended to tighten the monitoring of educational offerings and prevent their exploitation for unlawful employment purposes in Thailand.

Perfect.

Maybe some riffraff will be kept outside of Thailand because giving proof of learning is far beyond their horizon/level.

Yeah I can see that happening...

Curb the non-degree courses, to prevent foreigners working illegally - if you say so.   And it probably gives more support for the Thought Police.

This working illegally rubbish is nonsense....But its works nicely for all kinds of clamp downs..

You don't believe people work illegally?

Or you think any Tom, Ivan or Xi should be able to move here at any age and support themselves however they want?
