A question about cross-dressing

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I have a delicate question, and I in no way mean to ruffle anyone's feathers. I do not want to inspire any discussions that devolve into a verbal fist-fight.

I have observed that roughly 10%-20% of the local student body cross-dresses and use alternative pronouns when speaking in English. Approximately 40% of the student body openly identify as LGBTQ.  Here are my questions:

1.) What percentage of this is due to peer pressure?
2.) What percentage continue to live like this as adults?
3.) Would these people face discrimination from society if they decided that their previous ways of dressing and acting had been "a phase?"
4.) How do Thai parents typically react to their children cross-dressing or identifying as LGBTQ?

Thank you for answering and avoiding heated arguments and for respecting the rules of the forum.

A lot.

Cross dressing, like homosexual behavior, is a mental health issue. Any child cross dressing should be evaluated for abuse, as one of the goals of the LGBTQRST+/- movement is recruitment of children.

Rare time that I'll disagree with you, but I don't think homosexual behavior is mental illness.  Just a preferred choice.

Even cross dressing may or may not be an illness, but definitely falls in to 'eccentric behavior'.  Now thinking you are the opposite of you birth sex, yea, that needs a bit of therapy.

I know a few gay men, that simply get no satisfaction with women, as strange as it sounds.  Along with a few bi folks, that enjoy both.

These are close life long friends, not social acquaintances, and well before the 'rainbow' movement.

Yea, I'm the guy that will ask you personal questions if on my mind.  Close friends will answer, usually, or not, maybe I was so close.  Just acquaintances, and it might come off as awkward, but I'd probably ask anyway.  If offends, just don't answer, tell me to F'off.   Yea, I'm that guy.

These numbers seem simply pulled from thin air in an effort to get traffic going.

Never watch any, but if you want me to to see how degraded folks can be, send me your links.

One must be careful about terminology!

I do remember, during one exercise in the United States, our soldiers were vastly amused by our American counterparts complaining about the discomfort of having to wear "suspenders"!

Eventually we realised that by "suspenders" they meant their web equipment!

Mind you, British webbing was widely believed to have been designed by a woman who hated men!

Everything has an origin. Is the abused boy making a choice?

When a child is abused, especially sexually, it feels normal to them, especially as most of it comes from immediate family or family friends, and they carry this victim behavior into adulthood. It can lead to depression and anxiety and they'll have a rough time relating in their relationships .

You can't make another person into a homosexual as it's biological in nature and attraction isn't a choice. As far as the op's questions, boys choosing to cross dress happens, as does other types of experimentation in teen years. Most grow out of it, realizing their identity as they get older, and some is just play.

I have gays in my family history and I've accepted them as it's their deal. I would hope they would change but it's not something that can be forced. Kids are very susceptible to what their friends do, especially if they are close to them, and might experiment just to impress or see how it feels, but again, it usually stops.

It a silly fad, give it a generation or two and it’ll fizz out.

Research, like I have, and you'll see where things have origins. Growing out of a fad isn't a mental health issue. Most children do strange things, experimenting, to find their identity. Rebelling is normal, and that can mean doing the opposite of what you are taught, at least until you understand you're making a mistake. Take a little time and read this, as many have been, to use a word used by some here, "brainwashed" into believing some things aren't normal..............https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/sexual-orientation/sexual-orientation/what-causes-sexual-orientation.

Homosexuality is not biologically normal and there is no valid research to show it is. It is a mental aberration and a social construct.

It's rather easy to find many links...........https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquired_homosexuality from many other sources that can show more...........https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2012/12/11/scientists-may-have-finally-unlocked-puzzle-of-why-people-are-gay

Who is trying to normalize it? I think that's an outrageous assumption with nothing to back it up.

Here's another source............https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/massive-study-finds-no-single-genetic-cause-of-same-sex-sexual-behavior/.

My best friend when I was growing-up from age 7 was a cross-dresser. He was not a homosexual, he did not define himself as a woman trapped in a man's body. Rather, he felt he had dual-personas, one male, one female.  He eventually married, had kids and became a very successful professional.

He had no memories of being abused in any way as a child but his mother was a dressmaker specializing in dresses for young girls 2 to 5 years old and he remembers her dressing him in those dresses so she could see how they looked.  His mother died suddenly from an aneurism when he was six and he always suspected the cross-dressing may have been a way for his 6 year old mind to cope with her loss.

Here is your leftist, "gay friendly" summary. Take a lot with a grain of salt since the The politics demand that the conclusion already be determined.

Hey, no more cross-dressing for you. It´s taken a toll. 😂

Old dementia Joe sure liked the cross dressers, he even elected them to government posts:
