When the rains / floods come to main Pattaya beach the sand washes into the sea.

Every single day we hear tourism up and then tourism down, One could be forgiven for not having a clue what the current situation is re tourist numbers. To be honest as an expat I really couldn't care less, I imagine most expats feel the same.

I have mixed feelings as I know that a lot of Thais are dependent upon tourism, but I think many of us preferred it when there were far fewer tourists, so we will not be lamenting the fact that tourism is dropping, that is for certain. 

 

There are a dozen things that the authorities could be doing if they really wanted to improve the situation, but it would require some introspection, it would require admitting that mistakes have been made, and it would require vision and competence. Two things that are completely lacking from this current administration.

You got further than me haha.... Pattaya new upgrades with year long visitors was as far as I got hmm...  No matter what Pattaya does to make things look different, it will not change the amount of tourism flowing there or the reasons people come there. It surely will not increase tourism there during off seasons.
