French President Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte Macron, immersed himself in the cultural richness of Hanoi during their state visit to Vietnam. On the second day of their visit, the pair took a relaxed stroll through the historic Old Quarter and visited the iconic St. Joseph's Cathedral.

The Macrons spent about 45 minutes exploring the vibrant streets of Hanoi, beginning their walk from their hotel and taking in the sights along Trang Tien, Hang Khay, and Nha Chung streets. Dressed casually, they held hands, enjoying the atmosphere and engaging with the local culture.

Their brief visit to St. Joseph's Cathedral lasted around 10 minutes, after which they interacted with locals, with President Macron warmly waving and smiling to onlookers. The couple's presence drew a large crowd of admirers eager to capture the moment, reflecting the positive reception of their visit.

Earlier, the couple also enjoyed a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, where President Macron expressed interest in Hanoi's scenery and greeted residents with waves and smiles.

President Macron's visit to Vietnam, held from Sunday to Tuesday at the invitation of State President Luong Cuong, included important diplomatic engagements. He held discussions with President Cuong, met with political leaders including General Secretary To Lam and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and visited significant cultural and historical sites such as the Temple of Literature and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex.

This visit marks a significant diplomatic event, as it is the fifth time a French president has visited Vietnam since establishing diplomatic relations in 1973. It is President Macron's inaugural visit to the country since assuming office.

The diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and France, established on April 12, 1973, has evolved to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as of October 2024, making France the first EU nation to reach this level of partnership with Vietnam.

Trade between the two countries has significantly increased, with France being Vietnam's fifth-largest European trading partner. In 2024, trade turnover rose to $5.42 billion, a 12.9% increase from the previous year. France ranks 16th among countries investing in Vietnam, with 700 projects totaling $3.95 billion in registered capital. Conversely, Vietnam holds 20 investment projects in France worth $38.93 million.

The Vietnamese community in France, numbering about 350,000, stands as the largest Vietnamese diaspora in Europe, contributing to the robust cultural and economic ties between the two nations.

Through this visit, President Macron's engagements highlight the continued strengthening of bilateral relations, marking a new chapter in Vietnam-France partnerships focused on strategic cooperation and cultural exchange.

This head of state abuse must stop before it spreads further.

We learn that Biden was a victim of elder abuse and now Macron is a victim of spousal battering,
