Fruit in checked luggage

Featured Replies

Yes, if you go by bus.

If you fly only if it is in a can or such like.

Hey Mister.  I'll pay you 1000 quid to carry this fruit to Heathrow Airport!

I find it difficult to buy mandarins, which are my favourite fruit. I know it is a no-no in hand luggage

AFAIK any kind of meat or meat product is the only thing banned in luggage by Thai Customs.

Thailand has fruit up to the wazoo. I don't understand why the OP wants more. Fruit is usually perishable anyway.

Bring fruit into Australia - good luck with that.

I am currently in Spain and I would happily bring back strawberries (which are far superior to anything in Thailand) and other fruit.

And, of course, wine.

Silly question, can i carry fruit in my checked luggage?

No. Because it might bring diseases to the country and infect the crops here

My local fruit market has Thai fruit and imported fruit. Generally speaking it is EXCELLENT . It's an outdoor market not in a supermarket so it's much cheaper and usually better quality and more variety

Have you never flown internationally?  Even the entry card that one has to fill out asks if you are bringing fruits.

I’m guessing you’ve never been out of Australia if you are unaware of this law.

Was your wife mail order?

Thanks for the mail order, I've been married to my Thai wife for 22 years, and just in case there was no arrival card for many years, and I can't fill one online 3 days before I fly out, bad try, Trumpster.

I don't understand your post. TIT. There are different fruits available year round. Why the hell would you want to waste luggage weight on mandarins. Chances are if you can get them at point A being your departure point you'll be able to get them at point B being your arrival point.

edit: I may have falsely assumed you're talking Thailand domestic as you've failed to mention small details like if this is international or domestic and if international flying into or out of Thailand and if out of to which destination. My advice is if you want advice try and be more specific in your post.

1.  I didn’t vote for Trump.  Nice try.

2.  Was this question brought on by an elder moment or is this kind of a life long thing for you?

Quoting my wife, a mail-order bride is disgusting, and yes, I come to LOS 3 times a year

No need to be ashamed of how you met your wife.

If you had traveled internationally before,  you probably wouldn’t be asking a question like this.

Why should I be ashamed that my wife worked in a uni in Chom Buang? Your wife is a bar girl? I have property in LOS  but moved back to the west because of medical insurance, which is free for me here. So is my wife of 22 years.
