Staying one month need help to accelerate visa process pattaya

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my problem. I am coming into Thailand on June 29, and because I am a teacher in my own country I will only have a short time for my summer vacation spent in Thailand. I already have a non-immigrant o for marriage e-visa. However, my issue is that I won’t be here for three months as a result I will not get the extension. I was wondering if I could use an agent and Pattaya to help me convert it to a retirement visa. I have the money (800k) in the bank and it is already seasoned.

My question is, is it possible to have an agent help me to change my visa even if I am only saying such a short time? If so does anyone know a good agent that is not too expensive considering I have the money in the bank who can help me do this? Thank you

  • So you have a Non O visa, based on marriage.  Then yes immigration would make you obtain the first extension to be based on marriage.  Pity as you have the funds in place for extension based

  • This is not being pedantic..  A Non O gives you a 90 day stamp.  It's a single entry visa..  Best to think of it as dead and gone after the stamp is in passport.  At that point you

I don't know the direct answer to your question but I suspect not, I would think that a visa category cannot be changed - indeed, when you enter Thailand your visa is 'used'. I believe a new Non-O will be required...perhaps that could be arranged  - others with better knowledge of your situation could give a better reply.

My question would be (given that your stay is short), why not get a Retirement Visa on your next (longer?) visit and extend then?

Most agents don't want anything to do with marriage visas.  Local offices don't have the authority to issue marriage extensions and must send the applications to the regional headquarters, which is why it takes time for these extensions.

You said you had a visa.

You can change an extension type at 'renewal' IF you have satisfied the terms of the original approval (400k) and satisfy the requirements for an extension based on retirement e 800k seasoned for 2 months.

If someone has a Non O visa based on marriage or retirement then the first extension needs to be based on that.

Ongoing the extension can be changed. Example from marriage to retirement.

OP, why not obtain new Non O retirement for next visit.

Regards agents... Most likely an agent can obtain extension based on retirement from an entry with a Non O marriage.

Yes just getting that.

Agent can change to "based on retirement".

DIY would require wife to attend.

Best OP contact agent directly for advice.

Umm.. I would have post that agent for "safe entry service"

For general advice of options from agent in Pattaya I would start with Maneerat soi 13/2.

First step is to ask if agent can flick you from extension based on marriage to retirement.

Should not be an issue.

You may be required to obtain BBL account in Pattaya.

Your problem is common for guys not full time living in Thailand.

The extension based on marriage with under consideration period etc is impossible.

if your renewal date lines up while your there and you will be available for any other check ins that they may want to do then yes you can. Your length of stay in the country only affects your extension if you leave without a reentry permit. Otherwise it's good the whole time. Get a Non Imm O and you dont need insurance like the OA

No apology required.

It doesn't help when Thai Immigration refer to extensions if stay as "visas"....took me several years to get to grips with the terminology.

Be aware that a TDL can be renewed up to one year after expiry.

If you have an extension from a Non O you can obtain a 5yr TDL.

Those doing renew with tourist status (eg visa exempt entry) will only receive 2 year TDL.

i have 5 yr driver licence... and I plan to come back to thailand during Xmas break and renew it... that is when it is due... i been in thailand 21 years without leaving, but last year decided to come back to work for my pension. I been on a marriage extension last 6 years but I couldnt extend my visa because i had to leave in october and my visa was due in december... this is why i need my visa extension so i dont need 2 year licence and I can get multi-entry before I leave

OK... You have most likely made it clear in thread, however for clarity.

What is current situation.

Seems you are out of Thailand and entering June 29.

Will you enter with a new Non O e-Visa or visa exempt entry?

In another thread @Tod Daniels listed links to Pattaya agents. All good options.
