Question I would have is "why do they feel they need to be armed?".  Do they feel threatened or are the intending violence on innocents?

One wonders if the local young thai gangs are also armed.

And you didn’t say how much you were pulling in? I would be interested to know.

How much is your monthly income, how much savings so you have..I'd be interested to know?

About 150,000 baht per month on average but it varies a lot.

About £2.5 million.

What the hell is happening in Thailand, we seem to see this crap every day.  Thailand says they are worried about tourism…..At this rate there will be no tourists left to worry about.  Vietnam and surrounding countries must be loving this

About £2.5 million.

150k baht/month is £40k a year

So how could you save £2.5 million making £40k year?  And you are obviously young.

And with only 70k subs?

Upon arrival, officers encountered 22 male individuals claiming to be of Cambodian, Burmese and Karen ethnic origin. A search of the area uncovered more than 10 concealed weapons, including sparta-style blades, sickle-like knives and homemade knives with black tape-wrapped handles. These were hidden around the skate park in what authorities believe was an attempt to avoid detection while preparing for a possible violent confrontation.

In the family friendly Pattaya... say it ain't true.

I've noticed a huge rise in violent crime and entitled attitudes amongst mostly foreigners. The weed shops and ease of visas has attracted the scum of The Earth and are the 2 main reasons for the switch. Violence on a daily basis in Phuket & Pattaya. You only have to look on Tik tok and twitter to see all these Ibiza rejects and Nazis posting their bile and hate while being off their heads on dope...with 1,000s of followers of the same ilk being bombarded with the idea anything goes, what can you expect

Spot on sir.

Expect the usual pile on from the paranoid weed crowd.

’Cannabis doesn’t make you angry and has no links to crime’ BS

What’s that got to do with these Cambodian, Myanmar and Karen youths? I doubt that they feel particularly entitled, nor have been anywhere near Ibiza.

Did you only read the headline perchance?

Yes loads of them every where..causing untold mayhem to the tourism industry...just have a look at James Goddard on Twitter, real fascist Nazi, ex tommy Robinson friend, hates everyone including white boomers..the man is openly of his head with a blunt behind his ear touting his latest vicious bile....and there are many more like him

Loads of them everywhere. But none I venture to suggest in the armed group of youths that were arrested.

This whole right wing, Ibiza stuff is simply hijacking this thread and is totally off the topic within the article.

I think this is the first time I've read about young guys from Cambodia and Myanmar, heavily armed, and meeting in a place like Pattaya to plan something (probably big). A gang fight with other Khmer and Burmese? Or were they hired by a third party for a big job like a major robbery or multiple gangland hits against the third party's rivals?

As long as you only stay in LOS you think it is only there, but take it from me that it has become the same song all over the world.

Why would a bunch of Cambodian, Burmese and Karen youths want to attack Walking Street, that makes no sense??? It's more likely they were preparing for a confrontation with another gang of (probably Thai) youths who stayed hidden when the RTP put in an appearance. Or maybe they informed the RTP that the other gang would be by the pier?
