There was a very good article on the origins of the Covid virus which I posted some while ago, and the virus had been traced back to bats in China and in countries such as Laos, however here is the latest I can find.......

 

The latest presentation revealed that an analysis of the genomes of more than 50 new coronaviruses collected between 2004 and 2021 showed nothing implicated the lab. And samples from the Wuhan market showed an intermingling of SARS-CoV-2, raccoon dog and human DNAs which points to an animal source for the infection. As more evidence is found, we’ll know what happened. Future pandemic prevention and responses may depend on it.

Red states had higher COVID infection rates and deaths compared to blue states. They implemented fewer political decision to mitigate the pandemic, lower or no vaccination and most of the folks were old and obese. Not mass murder but mass suicide and obediently listen to their dear leader crap.

Interestingly, some of the wingnuts slicing and dicing the VAERS data related to the vaccine batches are claiming that the hottest batches (those with the highest rates of adverse reactions) were shipped to the Red States.

 

Interesting times for data wonks...  I make no claim about the veracity of the analysis.  I'm waiting for the new head of HHS to have a closer look.

I agree with you that there are those whose beliefs were aligned with evidence-based practices. Factors that inluenced their beliefs are based on their access to reliable information, trust in institutions, individual risk perceptions. Others embraced more conspiractory theories influenced by their mistrust in the institutions and authority and also the deluge of non scientific misinformation from right-leaning media.

There is zero evidence, I repeat zero evidence of an animal reservoir hence zero evidence of zoonotic transfer. This is not a conspiracy or non-scientific misinformation. It's what science hasn't found. Evidence of zoonotic transfer.

Both theories are plausible. No idea why some keep saying that the lab leak theory was banned. It never was, has always been an option.

Tying fauci to the lab leak, as has been claimed, is different though. Not one shred of evidence has been provided.

I was refering to the general perception of covid and its infuences on both sides. If you refering to zoonotic connection, there are key gaps to confirmed the bridge specie. However the zoonotic spillover via wildlife is strongly supported by genetic ties to bat viruses, market-linked outbreaks and historical precedents (SARs). I agree that the questions remained.

Of course there's links to bat viruses. That's what was being used with gain of function technology using humanised mice in the Wuhan Lab.
