Georgealbert Posted Sunday at 04:49 AM Posted Sunday at 04:49 AM Picture courtesy of Khaosod A massage parlour worker in Pattaya has filed a police report after a Russian couple allegedly made off without paying for services in the early hours of 6 June. Ms Anyamanee Thantim, 48, an employee at Smooth Day Thai Massage, located in Soi Phra Tamnak 5, Pattaya, Chonburi province, reported the incident to investigators at Pattaya City Police Station, Khong Dong Tan branch, on Friday. She also handed over CCTV footage, which she says clearly captures the suspects’ actions, to support legal proceedings against the pair. According to Ms Anyamanee, the couple, believed to be in their thirties and Russian, arrived at the parlour well-dressed, appearing like typical tourists. They requested a full-course traditional Thai massage, for which the establishment assigned staff based on their stated preferences. Following completion of the massage session, the staff informed the couple of the charges. However, the couple reportedly began to dispute the pricing. In an effort to avoid confrontation, the parlour offered to reduce the charge to the basic package rate of 350 baht per person per hour. The couple agreed to pay via bank transfer and showed what appeared to be a payment slip to staff. But when the establishment checked its account, no payment had been received. By the time staff attempted to clarify the situation, the couple had already mounted a black motorcycle and fled the scene, ignoring repeated requests to wait for verification. CCTV footage shows the couple negotiating payment at the counter and later fleeing on their motorcycle. The massage parlour has since posted the footage on social media and circulated it to local news outlets, urging other business owners to remain vigilant. Ms Anyamanee noted that such incidents are especially painful during the current economic downturn and low tourist season. “Incidents like this cause real damage to small business owners who are already struggling to stay afloat,” she said. Pattaya police have launched an investigation, and efforts are ongoing to identify and locate the suspects. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-06-08 2 8 5

Popular Post Magictoad Posted Sunday at 06:18 AM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 06:18 AM Soi 4 & 5 Pratumnak is becoming a nest of villians. Only a few ago there was a stabbing outside a 7/11 on Soi 4 Pratumnak. Two Russians scrapping over a girl! Recently a new bar has opened playing beeps & squeaks until 4am. With motorbike gangs in attendance. Needless to say they don't have a licence for alcohol or music but eventually someone with 'wasta' will call the police and get them shut down. Let's hope they get busted for multiple drugs too. 3 3

It's doom and gloom for all of us good foreigners. The Thai's are getting FED UP with all the nasty foreigners, they're changing their attitude, we are no longer treated like KINGS. It's only going to get worse. 2 6 1

Cameroni Posted Sunday at 02:03 PM Posted Sunday at 02:03 PM Looks like there was a disagreement about price. The Russians thought it would be lower and were upset, so they tried to screw the massage parlour by not paying altogether. 1 3

You get a page that shows the receiver and amount, then you have to confirm. Maybe they showed that page and the cashier did not check properly? On final page (after payment) you even get a qr code that the cashier could check the payment (if it does not show up in her system anyway). 2 1 1

Untrained or unobservant staff didn't notice the red warning that the transaction was incomplete, perhaps because it is in English (BBL app). I had to go back to next day and correct my mistake, it was very embarrassing 😂 1 1

Popular Post Quentin Zen Posted Sunday at 10:59 PM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 10:59 PM The last Russian guy I met here. Drank at noon, yelled at girls on the Songtaeo, harassed them for their phone number, banged on doors when upset, and complained about every price while not having much money. Yes, he was there to help the Thai children learn English. lol. Disaster. 1 1 5

Have you had a massage lately?....pretty much within standard pricing these days. The masseuses only makes about 100B , a hint to why many masseuses need to push for special services to make ends meet. 1

Have seen a couple of instances of Russians being cheap... one was outside a GGB where a lad had been inside throwing his tickets under the table.(Security were being bit rough with him). Another was a couple in a GGB who saw a sign for beer at 60 baht, then pointed towards my Heiny bottle and ordered 2.... when they got the tab the arguments started. Sadly I got the impression the server lost out. The OP sounds blatant though, eat and dash in true Manchester, UK, style! 1
