Retirement visa extension phone call received from immigration

Featured Replies

I would be concerned it may be a scam call and now the caller has become aware your house is probably vacant for an extended period ?

I would encourage a local friend to check your home is safe.

Yes, I have had a phone call, followed by a home visit for an extension based on retirement. Ratchaburi. It was 18 months ago, following my (successful and no issues) extension for the year 2024-

  • I don't typically answer calls from an unknown mobile number. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who doesn't answer.. They should send an email first..

  • Immigration can and sometimes do make a home visit for extension retirement.  Don't concern yourself

Which immigration office.

"Usual 2k baht" sounds like bar stool.

Why did you pay it

They visited my house, have already checked and it's the normal amount.

Checked with whom?

If you paid anything, you've been sucker punched with the scam sob story.

If they use an Immigration vehicle, all costs are covered.

If they use their own vehicle, they get an allowance to cover costs.
