I've tried several types at the New York Pizza House on 3rd Road Pattaya. They're OK, but a Pizza House gut bomb is still my favorite.

I had a Pizza House margarita yesterday, absolutely delicious best pizza I have had in a long time

Pizza toppings in Brazil sometimes make me wonder: Corn, mashed potatoes, quail eggs, heart of palm, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, cream cheese, green & black olives with pits, chicken, broccoli, stroganoff,  etc..

+1 Pala Pizza Romana - under Asok BTS - the best pizza you can find in Thailand (IMVHO)

My favourite is the Brie + Speck Ham

I like the pizza at Vesuvio’s on soi 8 here in Bangkok.  I order a margarita then add salsiccia and black olives.  A couple of glasses of wine and finish it off with complimentary limoncello.

For a change of pace I sometimes get a Chicago style deep dish pizza from Capone’s on soi 23.

Back home in Chiang Rai I always go to Chef Sasa

Margarita pizzas are really good if made right.  However, I tend to like thicker crust pizzas. We had a really good Italian restaurant in Tacoma, WA and Margarita pizzas and Spaghetti Puttanesca were two of my favorite.

I’ll shove a slice in the fridge overnight and eat it stone cold in the morning like some kind of pizza connoisseur with a hangover who’s just given up on life.

Nah. Just leave it on the coffee table over night and eat it to clear the hangover cobwebs from the previous night's kegger party.

Not sure if you like New York pizza, but have you ever had a slice from Soho Pizza in Sukhumvit Soi 11? It's about 90% pure mainlining of NYC pizza flavor. A dash more sauce with a touch more oregano in the sauce and it would be a near perfect copy.

I mostly agree but Soho does not pass the tests above. Very cheap, oily cheese. If you don't eat it hot that minute, it fails. No take-home.

Pizza is like sex, when it's good, it's great, and when it's bad, it's still pretty good, but anyone who puts ketchup on pizza should be charged with a crime.

Spaghetti Puttanesca

some trivia for all the ho fans on AN.

puttanesca is derived from puttana, which means prostitute.

I think the hookers in Italy used to cook up this pasta dish to attract customers with the smell ?

i remember reading sth like that once.

I like anchovies on pizza.

That salty, oily cheese they use is exactly like NYC pizza. Perfect. I usually ask them to heat up the slice to make it extra hot because I like the cheese melted. Perfect.

Also, a few weeks ago I ordered a couple of slices there. I then decided not to eat them both, so I asked them if they could bag the second one. They were very nice and put it in a cardboard box and then in a plastic bag with carry handles.

Went over there once but they don't accept cash, so we went somewhere else.

They accept both cash and credit/debit card. Normally I pay them in cash.

There’s a place in Bangkok that makes a massive pizza shaped like one giant slice. It’s huge, probably enough to feed around 10 people. I saw an ad for it online once, but now I can’t find it. When they serve it, they cut the whole thing up into small pieces, but the pizza itself is literally just one oversized slice.

I know there’s a place near Khao San called Casa Picasso that does very large slices, but I haven’t been there yet and I don’t think that’s the one I saw in the ad.

Anyone know the place I’m talking about, the one that does those massive rectangular pizzas shaped like a single slice?

Jersey guy here, I know my pizza. Want a meatball, eat a meatball. Want a salad, eat a salad. But leave the toppings off so you can taste the quality. Pizza dough cold-fermented for 72 hours, homemade gravy, good cheese is all it takes.

Pala is great for Roman-style pizza. Their marinara pizza, no cheese, is like a Trenton or New Haven tomato pie. Owners are vegan so lots of vegan options and deli offerings.

For New York style thin crust, pick Chef Bing. Bing grew up in Brooklyn. Ruam Rudee Soi 2. Ploenchit BTS.

No sides like mussels in tomato sauce or broccoli rabe but the pizza is outstanding.

Both make their own gravy and use high -quality, low fat cheese.

I don’t think there are any Sicilian pizzas in Bangkok. I prefer them not as thick as one ince. My favourite place, in Belleville, was filled with characters right out of The Sopranos!

Thank the gods we don’t see any deep-dish Chicago “pizza”. Loaf of bread with tomato sauce on it.

Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Pizza Company? Processed frozen dough, lowest quality cheese and Heinz ketchup—yuck! Pizza Company is only popular in your live in the sticks or if you’re Thai & put ketchup on it.

There are really no other ace pizzas in the capital. Am I a pizza snob? Absolutely! That beautiful Napoli pizza is a hearthrob.

Christine Lavin, “Cold Pizza for Breakfast”. Finally, a sensible thread on TV!

FREE MARINARA!

For those up north, try "By Hand Pizza Cafe" - 25 Moon Muang Rd Lane 7, Tambon Si Phum, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200

Wood fired oven. Great stuff.
