An Iranian national was nabbed by Samut Sakhon immigration police for overstaying his visa after courting a Thai woman via a dating app.

 

On 14th June, immigration officers in Samut Sakhon arrested a 33-year-old Iranian man, Mr. Mojtaba Shabani, who overstayed his visa after renting a house with his Thai girlfriend.

 

The man had been residing illegally in the country without extending his stay and was found hiding in a rented house in Krathum Baen district.

This arrest followed a directive from Police General Kittirat Phanphat, urging strict action against illegal foreign residents. The investigative team uncovered that Shabani used a dating app targeting Thai women, leading to his prolonged and illegal stay.

 

Authorities have charged him under Section 81 of the Immigration Act, B.E. 2522, for overstaying his visa. He was taken to Krathum Baen police station for further legal proceedings.

I'm sorry but this wording makes it seem so nefarious. He was in Thailand and was using a dating app to find women. How is this targeting? . Ultimately, he overstayed his visa and got caught. 

He is in Thailand so of course he would be seeking Thai woman using the dating app. He found a GF and moved in with her then overstayed his visa. I do not say the OP is wrong. Perhaps I misunderstand how it is worded. 

At least he had a good reason to overstay. 😉 Caught in the honey trap

Israel is not classified as a terrorist state because it is a recognized sovereign nation, a UN member since 1949, and its military actions, while controversial, are conducted under state authority and often framed as self-defense under international law (e.g., Article 51 of the UN Charter). Surely you must realize by now that these are not journalists or even competently educated adults writing this garbage? This has been going on for years, I am sure none of them actually leave their offices, they just sit all day making up <deleted>, making incoherent sentences, paragraphs and stories. Wanted criminal??????Legally, Netanyahu is not a criminal as of now, as he’s neither convicted domestically nor by the ICC. Allegations exist, but no court has ruled against him.

Yes, Israel has faced more UN resolutions than any other nation, including during periods under Netanyahu, that in itself does not make it a terrorist state?

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for him in November, 2024. Pathetically and as per usual he declared them antisemitic. In 2019 he was indicted within Israel for corruption and accepting bribes, with the case ongoing. It is recognized, even within Israel, by most objective observers that it is a fear of a loss of immunity and the likelihood of eventual conviction for corruption that drives his policy of a 'forever war', and not his stated aims. Hamas is an ideology and therefore can never be fully defeated and his foolhardy bombing of Iran is likely to cause the Iranians to speed up their development of the bomb.

Well an arrest warrant issued by the highest court in the world says it all. The terrorist designation by USA and its minions is based on their interest. In other words one can be called a “terrorist” by them but it does not limit them from being supported by the same group that designated them. I’m sure you’re aware of “ISIS is on our side” email. How about  head of ISIS in Syria being greeted by DJT and made head of that state. The same guy who allegedly cut off American heads. Broaden your mind and look at the big picture rather than drivel being spat out to brainwash ordinary citizens in believing our side is good and the other side is bad. It’s very grey indeed.

Yes that is a tricky and complex definition.

One countries freedom fighter is another countries terrorist.

He seems to have some walking ailment... perhaps stayed for treatment and be with someone to take care of him... hope he gets better...

I don't believe our side is good ........etc     AGREED.

Ahmad al-Sharaa, Syria’s interim president, was not head of ISIS but a former al-Qaeda affiliate (al-Nusra/HTS) who fought U.S. forces in Iraq and led anti-Assad efforts. There’s no evidence he personally beheaded Americans,  Trump met him in May 2025 to normalize relations and lift sanctions, but did not make him head of state—al-Sharaa assumed power independently.

Israel has  done some questionable things, I personally think bombing Iran was a bad idea, but you are missing the point, which is i was answering a post saying Israel was a terrorist state, I am pointing out no one has classified it as such!

You are correct about the ICC arrest warrant, but Israel is not an ICC member and rejects the court’s jurisdiction, and enforcement depends on ICC member states, making it unlikely Netanyahu will face arrest unless he travels to a signatory country.

Yes, domestically, he’s indicted for corruption (bribery, fraud, breach of trust) in Israel since 2019, with the trial ongoing, but this doesn’t make him a “wanted man” in the same fugitive sense, as he’s actively defending the case while serving as prime minister.

Agreed about the bombing of Iran, a very questionable thing to do. But I don't think it will speed up the Iranians making of  bomb, as most of the sites making a bomb will be destroyed!

His bad luck may be saving him from even worse luck.
