Russia Warns US Over Iran

Featured Replies

Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov explicitly cautioned the U.S. against providing direct military support to Israel or even considering such "speculative options," warning that doing so "would radically destabilise the entire situation," according to Russia's Interfax news agency.

His statement reflects Moscow's concerns about the conflict spinning out of control and affecting Russia's interests in the Middle East, where it has strategic partnerships and military presence.

Additionally, Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russia's foreign intelligence agency (SVR), described the situation as "critical," signaling Moscow's deep alarm over the deteriorating security environment.

Uh ho maybe they will have a little spat lol 😂 seriously though it’s most likely a bit of reverse psychology between 2 authoritarians (one giving cover for the other).

Sounds like a conspiracy theory Tug.  I give you more credit than being the type to fall for conspiracy theories.  Maybe disrupted cognitive functioning from a decline in oxygen due to quadruple masking?

Who cares what the Russians say either way?

They don't even back up their own close allies.
They use them and then when the going gets tough, they're out of there as a matter of policy.

In any case, it seems to me the card that Iran has left is to mine the Straits of Hormuz.

That needs to be prevented somehow.

It’s my opinion no more than that as a lay person and observation.

They don't back up because they can't. It's an indirect benefit of Western support to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.

Russia was not able to back up Syria and probably won't be able to back up Iran.

Sounds a bit like the USA have been doing since the last election.
