Any ideas on a bar/ restaurant nearby selling reasonably priced beers c4:00 p.m onwards. Understand most bars there don’t open until 5:00/6:00 p.m.

Wouldn’t know, don’t drink, though it shouldn’t be too difficult to find, take a short walk until you run into a shop that has beer on the menu. 

After 5 p.m., the rooftop bars at Maya are nice. Before 5 p.m., the trick will be to find somewhere selling alcohol - most places around the area don't sell during the 2-5 p.m. banned time.

Well, it's hard for alcoholics. Better buy stock the day before or try 1 hour of abstinence 😂

Check for places on Tripadvisor.com and call if the hours aren't listed.

I would have thought maybe @Cameroni might have a suggestion or two so perhaps he will pick up on the thread now I have quoted his name.

 

Probably not of any use but there is a place called house of paella on Nimman soi 13. Not sure how close that is to Novotel or what time they open. If open and close enough, a drink and couple of Tapas as too early for dinner?

 

Hasn't the Novotel itself got a bar to kill an hour before something more suitable opens?

 

Baan Mae Cafe & Restaurant is open at that time.

 

Alternatively Shabugu is also open.

There’s a Wine / Beer Bar in One Nimin, just down the road from your hotel.

Open all afternoon but I think alcohol only at certain times 11-2 and 5pm onwards. They have reasonably priced Thai beers.
