Probably a love triangle.

Always avoid being in the same room with another man who is interested in your woman.

And always avoid being in the same room with someone who has imbibed copious amounts of the demon drink.

I'm quite sure this guy did not just turn crazy like a switch. So many foreigners who is time bombs.

so what's the reason for that?

thailand is supposed to have a more relaxed pace of life than back home, yet people are deteriorating mentally here?

just spoke to a thai woman who had to break up with her farang boyfriend because he was always "angry with her". where is the anger coming from?

Not everyone has those types of women.

You need to take part of the blame though for choosing poorly.

And surely there must be some red flags before the cycle of completely bleeding your dry has time to take its course?

Surely I do. Sometimes we disregard the minor red flags because they're so pretty and talk nice. Then you realize what you chose and leave while you're sanity's still intact, and let them self destruct as they will, and turn their hostility towards another who might not take it so lightly. All narcissists pay the price at the end.

Not an excuse. We all know some foreigners do stupid things here.Just that again, 99% of all crimes are done by locals, but some focus on the foreigners, which is just a minute amount of the problems here daily. Remember background checks only show who was caught doing crimes. many of the crimes are done by people who haven't any record, and who have paid others off so they don't.

I'm surprised, you as an American dismiss back ground checks.

You just forget, we are supposed to be the wealthy temporarily guests in this country, not the traumatized citizens who grew up in poverty or whatever led them to have mental instability or addictions.

Thai population 68 millions give and take, and how many retired western expats is it?

Add to that the large amount of women here who lie and scam their foreign boyfriends and husbands after they fall for their lies. A covert narcissist love bombs a person until they have them trapped, building houses and buying condos, buying cars, gold and land, and then they attack, becoming once again what they have always been, lying, manipulative abusers who are only after the men for a profit, and then toss them aside.

And who to blaim? Seriously

No, background checks should always be used. Most of the huge crimes are white collar crimes, where someone\s making a profit keeping them out of jail.

The parents of those who are raised to hurt others intentionally, because their own childhoods were full of trauma.

Well, the guy was heavily intoxicated for one.

I don't drink. I got no addictions dragging me down. And as I've pointed out many times, alcohol + suppressed anger is a dangerous mix.

For cost of living, there are some really cheap places to live in Thailand. But some of these guys choose Pattaya and those bars can get expensive.

Baggage and emotional problems ... everyone does.

Been through a lot of problems. But I'm philosophical enough to navigate things to avoid going on a complete downward spiral.

Love triangles is a joke to me. Been through it. After a couple of months, it's fairly easy to get over a girl and find another one. It's not an excuse to attach laser beams to your head.

The most important is to be sober and understand the complexity of living in Thailand. Nothing comes for free, and there is consequences for every choice you make.

The word swiftly is the most over used one on this site. Officials are always responding swiftly to incidents. This, "The authorities have praised the swift action of investigating officers, noting that had the phone not absorbed the crossbow bolt, the consequences could have been fatal."..............The investigating officers had nothing to do with the bolt hitting the phone. It was bad aiming on the man's part.

The only thing used more swiftly is the thumbs downs from the trolls. Unless they will reply why they think you're wrong, then they're just LAZY trolls with sad, sad lives.

Why you so upset, he is a frickin crazy Norwegian who snapped almost killing his Norwegian wife, off course it is big news and a dramatic story to tell.

But, but, but what the Thais!!!!
