It really is pathetic "if" you happen to bea ground man (but I doubt that) Forgive me if my assumption is incorrect:- 'Cornish Pasty' and 'being a whinger' = UK citizen? Maybe you should concentrate more on the place you left, and ask yourself how well that country (assuming it may be UK) is being run. ps. you should stop p'ing sitting down... pfft Thailand can’t even get democracy right. They are a laughing stock globally. Mark.

You obviously haven't seen some of the jerks in the tourist zones making a nuisance of themselves. They aren't happy go lucky adolescents having a bit of fun. "jerks". Wow you too nice. Haven't heard that term for years. You can call them what you like. But you right, the quality of tourists dropped off a cliff when weed was legalised. Now every other story is about fights in the street (one side or both are these jerks!). Why would anyone with money (ie the tourists they want to attract) travel to Thailand. 1 2
ronster Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Will it end up like all the pharmacies in the country that sell just about any tablet that are meant to be only dispensed by qualified people . But instead some shop assistant types info into a computer before being given the answer of what drugs to sell you for your problem.
bamnutsak Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Reclassified as a Category 5 Narcotic... Marijuana to be relisted as narcotic under Category 5 Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin on Tuesday reaffirmed his determination to reclassify marijuana as a Category 5 narcotic, effectively outlawing its recreational use once again. He also made clear that the Bhumjaithai Party’s cannabis control bill would never be passed during the current government's term. Somsak, who has long opposed the liberal cannabis policy initiated under the previous government, told reporters at Government House that marijuana “will definitely be put back” on the narcotics list. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/politics/40051671 Penalties for Class 5 Narcotics... e) Category 5: fine of up to Baht 1,500,000 (one million, five hundred thousand Thai baht) and imprisonment not exceeding 15 years; 1
Thingamabob Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Somsak clarified that 'the current measures are not politically motivated'. I wonder how many people believe that. 1

I don't know any,Cannabis usually makes you very mellow. If you use other drugs as well at the same time it could be a different story. Alcohol on the other hand can make people very aggressive. 1 1

I suppose it's moot now.....

Hakuna Matata Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago This is a move in the right direction! Next step is to ban it completely. It only attracts scumbags from all over the world to Thailand. 1 2

Whilst Expats and Tourists will be able to get around the medical requirements for usage, they will no longer be able to walk down the street smoking it, nor in bars and clubs. Most of the locals will no longer be able to easily access it though, and that is a big plus. Those Ex[pats whop own/run a cannabis shop better start getting prepared and make sure you are fully licenced etc. and when it it 'controlled' again, do not sell any to anyone without a medical certificate/letter. The number one way the Thai police will nail illegal selling, is by pretending to be a buyer. I think smoking it in public (like walking down the street as you say etc...) is actually prohibited and so is cannabis containing more than 0.2% THC. But walk into any C.Shop and they would sell 20% thc or even more cannabis products (which i think is insane), without any legal consequences or police involvement etc...So not sure how prohibiting something that is already illegal would change anything in terms of legal supervision and prosecution. 2 1

Popular Post Expat Tom Posted 13 hours ago Popular Post Posted 13 hours ago Everything is for sale in Thailand. What this will come down to is which lobby will have the most money to buy votes, the alcohol lobby ..aka...anti -marijuana or the Weed lobby. I suggest that you might find it interesting to see where Thailand ranks on the "World Corruption Perception Index". Visit "ransparency.org" for the 2024 rankings. Thailand ranks 107th on the list, meaning that there are 106 countries ranked a less corrupt than Thailand. BTW, Thailand fell on place from the 2023 survey. Could Taskin's stay in the luxury suite of the police hospital and the installation of his daughter as PM have anything to do with that? Russia ranks 141st on the world corruption index. Could that be why there are so many Russians here? Actually, I think that the corruption here is great. In the compartment under the seat of my motor bike I have a ziplock bag with my motorbike papers, my Thai driver's license and a 1000 baht note. When I get stopped by the police I give the officer that bag. I get the bag back minus the 1000 baht and NO ticket. WHAT A GREAT COUNTRY. I wish that I could do the same in my home country. 1 1 2

Taboo2 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago We should not be surprised. This is a money grab by some powerful people who wants to control the trade. Nothingburger. Follow the money and you will understand what is going on. Thailand has bigger issues....like some pissed of Cambodians who may be better at fighting than them if they go to war. They did not do well when they send soldiers into Vietnam back in the day.
