Crime Immigration Police Bust Swedish Fraudster in Pattaya Condo Raid

A Swedish national, aged 39 and identified as Ludde, has been arrested in Pattaya as part of a major sweep against transnational crime by Thai immigration police. Ludde was taken into custody at a condominium in the vibrant tourist hotspot, following a red notice warrant from European authorities.

 

Accused of orchestrating an elaborate fraud scheme, Ludde allegedly used forged documents to impersonate company reps, tricking businesses into providing goods without payment.

 

The scam spanned 11 cases between September 2021 and April 2023, with damages totalling over 3.5 million baht.

 

Police Lieutenant General Chairit Anurit, Commander of Immigration Bureau 3, stated that the arrest aligns with efforts to clamp down on foreign criminals in Thailand. Authorities are keen to ensure such activities do not undermine the nation’s security.

 

Beyond his initial crimes, Ludde faced two additional fraud charges, with damages around 304,631 Swedish kronor (approximately 891,000 baht). Arrest warrants from Stockholm District Court and European authorities followed, both issued in early June.

 

The Immigration Bureau tracked Ludde to Pattaya, apprehending him for further legal proceedings. Thai police plan to coordinate with Swedish officials for his extradition, ensuring he faces justice.

 

In related developments, a Vietnamese woman involved in cryptocurrency and forex scams was arrested in Bangkok. Detained with two bodyguards, the 30-year-old defrauded over 2,000 Vietnamese nationals of approximately 10.1 billion baht. She was caught under an Interpol Red Notice for her extensive scams.

A was party to an investment scam a few years ago (court case still ongoing), but the financial adviser legged it to the UK. Thai authorities asked for him to be sent back to Thailand so he could stand trial here, but the UK courts deemed that the state of the prisons here was not conducive to his being sent back. That's justice for you ... NOT

Drug and fraud cases are sent to Klong Prem prison. Violent cases are sent to Bang Kwan fictionally know as the Bangkok Hilton.

Unless Red Bull Junior is an absolute moron, he'll be looking over his shoulder the rest of his life - in Thailand, anyway. Things ... happen to cars. And aircraft. And people. 

 

My last long stay in LoS - in 1986 if I'm not mistaken - some puffed-in criminal type had opened a so-called "millionaires' club" in Bangkok. The guy who ran it - your typical flashy in-your-face "rounder" (as we called them in Vancouver) prominently walked around wearing a bulletproof vest and surrounded himself with  a phalanx of bodyguards.

 

Even so, after he reportedly cheated a buyer for a car - I think a Rolls-Royce -  he was shot to death in the open by a hitman. So much for the millionaires and bodyguards.

 

I also knew a Chinese who ran a jewelry shop in the old Erawan Hotel. The frankly puzzling story was that he had lent someone the equivalent of $25,000, and instead of repaying the loan, or stiffing the Chinese dude and walking away, the debtor hired a hitman to shoot him dead. 

 

It would be satisfying to see something "happen" to RBJ.
