Is this the same Secretary General of NATO who was seen snickering and mocking Trump behind his back?

That guy?

Blinded by your own Trump testicle slurping.  That's gotta suck.  (Ha ha, pun intended.)

That’s a childish reply.

It works to laud Trump! 🤣

“These people really love their countries,” Trump said of the NATO leaders at his news conference concluding the NATO summit. “It’s not a rip-off, and we’re here to help them protect their country.”

“I came here because it was something I’m supposed to be doing,” he added, “but I left here a little bit different.”

Inside the NATO charm offensive that shocked as much as it delivered

I don't get it.  Why should President Trump even care about how Europe defends itself? Defends itself from what? Russia? We all know that all this stuff about the Russian menace is cr#p. They pose no menace to the rest of Europe. Just Ukraine. And even if they did pose a menace to Europe, so what. We can still do business with them. President Trump should pull out of NATO now.

NATO Sec-Gen butters up Trump. Hold the presses!

Trump is so narcissistic he needs praise from everybody.

If you don't think Russia is a menace to Europe, you have not been listening to Putin. He says the fall of the Soviet Union was the worst disaster to befall Russia.

You know, the Iron Curtain that started with East Germany.

Who cares what you think about that?

The point is that President Trump has made clear that the thinks Putin's invasion of Ukraine was justified and that he doesn't believe that Russia poses a threat to the rest of Europe. So why should it matter to the US if Europe spends more on defense or not. In fact, why should it matter to President Trump if European countries are invaded by Russia? That's their problem. Why should it be a problem for Americans? We don't care!!!

Yes, I know people like you don't care about genocides, as long as America can keep running up debt to the rest of the world, and retreat behind Fortress America.

You are in for a rude awakening. Your tariffs will put America into recession, if not depression. They are far more sweeping than the Smoot-Hawley tariffs of 1930.

News flash - I don't care what Trump thinks, or you either.

No. My point was that President Trump doesn't care if Europe gets invaded or not. That's their problem. So why should he care how much the Europeans spend on defense? Not our problem.

No surprise there. Trump doesn't think of anything but increasing his own wealth, by fair means or foul.

"So why should it matter to the US if Europe spends more on defense or not."

Good question, in particular as it won't necessarily mean that the U.S. will spend less.

It's probably because a significant share of European military expenses will be spent on U.S. weapons and equipment.

If the US wants to disengage itself from Europe it is, of course, perfectly entitled to do so.

However, it will not be without consequence in the medium/ long term. Europe's ties with China are strained at the moment, if the US is not longer interested in being our BFF maybe China will be. Not good news for US exporters.

Incidentally, where and when did Trump say that Russia's invasion of Ukraine was justified?

This is what Chatgpt says. It's good enough for me:

Blaming Ukraine: In February and April 2025, Trump referred to the war as “Ukraine’s war” or even “Biden’s war,” claiming Ukraine started the conflict or that Ukraine “should have never started it” and should have made a deal instead
.

Bravo for Putin: He described Putin’s invasion as “very smart” or “genius,” going so far as to say Putin “played Biden like a drum” and that the annexation was done for “$2 worth of sanctions” – comments widely interpreted as praise
washingtonpost.com
.

Kremlin Echoes: His narrative closely mirrors Russian propaganda, e.g. claiming the war was provoked by NATO expansion or Ukrainian actions—positions echoed without challenge, and sometimes repeated by Trump officials .

Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. Imo Trump is ill-advised and/or ill-informed on this matter.

No surprise there. Trump delivers in so many positive ways like no others.

It appears they we're fawning  over him .They were all kissing the ring.
