A 26-year-old Thai student and aspiring model was attacked and robbed in New York, raising concerns about the response from Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) staff. Finding no immediate help, she had to flag down a car to reach the police.

Details of the June 22 incident emerged on Facebook, urging Thai nationals to stay vigilant. The victim, known as Zyne, was brutally assaulted at a Brooklyn subway station. Her attacker punched and slashed her face before stealing her belongings. Part of this terrifying incident was recorded on her phone and uploaded automatically.

Zyne sought help from nearby MTA employees, but her attempts were unsuccessful. She then managed to stop a passing vehicle, which enabled her to contact the police and receive medical care. Currently, she is recovering from significant physical injuries and psychological trauma.

This attack draws parallels to a 2021 incident involving Thai model Bew Jirajariyawetch, who was also assaulted in a Manhattan subway station.

Deciding to speak out, Zyne is highlighting the rise in violence, particularly against Asian women in New York City. Her bravery underscores widespread frustration over similar cases that often go unacknowledged. Victims frequently feel isolated and vulnerable, lacking a voice. Zyne calls for awareness, accountability, and change.

An update on the case reveals the New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested the suspect, 54-year-old Lewis Doctor, four days after the incident at Chauncey Street Subway Station. However, no interviews have been conducted with local media to discuss the motive behind the attack.

Welcome to NY....

NYC is a city that had to hold anti-Asian  hate crime rallies. Not safe for whites or Asians. Go to any other city and leave that dump for the rats.

For all you subject matter experts on NYC. Has New York changed since all you SME's were there last?

Can't call myself an expert, but I felt safer in NYC the times I've been there than in London or Paris.  By a long way.

Turns out that guy had 44 previous arrests.  So yes.  Dem run city...

Eventually, Douglas was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery. During a plea hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court, he admitted guilt. Prosecutors recommended a five-year prison sentence and two and a half years of supervised release. Douglas also waived his right to appeal. He has 44 prior arrests, according to law enforcement sources.

OMG, what a terrible place it is!

Which can be said about most large cities worldwide, including Bangkok, Los Angeles, Detroit, Rio De Janeiro, Memphis, Cape Town, Tijuana and many more. I lived near NYC for 30 years, went there a lot, and worked there, and spent a lot of time during the nights, and never saw any crime although of course it happened, like it does here a street away from where many live but never see. The same wisdom goes for visiting anywhere. Visit in groups, stay in crowded areas, don't get drunk and out of self control, don't start trouble, stay in lit areas and don't trust anyone.

OK. And what of the cities which are in hardcore Republican states that have significantly higher rates of violent crime? Your logic holds that we should say the crime is a reflection of the Republicans. Some of the highest violent crime rates are in Texas, Alabama and Florida.  Salt Lake City, Utah ranks first for rape and larceny theft among small-sized cities. Your logic holds that Republicans and Mormons are to blame.

Here's the 'splanation:

Even the Red states have Blue run cities...  Poorly run.

Dollars to donut holes he's got a history of multiple arrests and releases.

He looks pretty rough for 54 years old.

Edit:  On an aside, I wonder how many able bodied bystanders decided not to intervene after seeing what happened to Daniel Penny?

This is life is a Democrat run city.

A completely ridiculous and totally blinkered response but one to be expected from the Huntsman. America is a very violent country and Americans seem to love their violence. Violence in Republican controlled cities is just as terrible.
