12 hours a day talking Trump. That's not a good life.

Says who? Now combine a weak USD with the Genius' tariffs and lets see what happens to the price of all imported good...

ronic decision after another. From the aggressive extortion tactics to clueless tariffs, he cannot make any kind of coherent policy. The biggest failure is that he assumes all the other countries are going to sit back and do nothing. They are not, they are just excluding the US from the market, and who could blame them?

Trump does not know how the stock market works, but I think you can go one step further and say he does not know how the economy works, and on a more important level he knows nothing anything about globalization and all the intricacies involved in manufacturing internationally.

There's a reason why that's taking place, there's a reason why manufacturing has shifted overseas. It didn't happen in a vacuum and that manufacturing will not return to the US, not during our lifetime. It is just a slogan and a concept that he used to very craftily deceive millions of people into voting for him.

It would appear at this point that Trump's seesaw approach to tariffs is having a dire effect on the US economy, thousands of jobs are being lost every day, the stock market is crashing (and believe me that crash has only just begun) and many countries are re-thinking their relationships with the US, realizing that the US is not the dependable ally they thought it was.

Many are avoiding visits to the US which could decimate American tourism, and many nations are likely planning their manufacturing in such a way that they are considerably less dependent on American imports, exports, and sales.

So where does that leave America in the grand scheme of things, and how badly could Trump's policies come back and bite him on his enormous butt?

In the minds of many of us Trump is grossly overestimating the importance of the US and the dependence of other nations on the US. Granted the US economy is still huge, but it's not immune to damage, it's not immune to punishment by other nations, it could start shrinking, and it's not immune to crashing.

My Family in Canada is certainly not going to the US this year and maybe not for a long time to come.

Why do you think that is? Not just my family but many Canadians have cancelled their yearly visit to the US.

You're not going to have to go we're coming to you. You're not going to be a visitor you'll be a resident.

Ok, i will keep it coming.

Why the "You people crack me up"?

Travel to the US is down over 7 % comes out to be something like 12 BILLION dollars in lost revenue!

Has nothing to do with how many people are living in the US or how fantastic you think the US is.

Sure i believe the US is a beautiful country with a lot of nice areas and lots of nice places to visit.

The reason tourism is down because of? Trumps policies.

You don't have to believe me just do a little checking on the internet.

My Family in Canada is certainly not going to the US this year and maybe not for a long time to come.

May be a problem if it were thailands economy but the US is not dependent on tourism

So international tourism to the US is projected to be down about 5% in 2025.

International tourism represents about 20%of US tourism.

So 5% X 20% = 1%

Wow, how will they survive!

I think the government no longer putting illegals into hotels will be a much bigger hit.

Hotels can always be leased an repurposed as ICE detention centers.

Thanks to OPEC. Food inflation is higher (2.9%)

Yet bizarrely petrol prices are the lowest since 2021. Nice bonus for all those travelling for 4th July.

Hating Trump does not mean you hate the US at present but if the idiot continues with his TACO system they will very soon.

Not bizarrely. Saudi Arabia announced last summer that it would increase its production in order to regain market shares, followed by other OPEC members. Economic growth is also slowing down globally, so demand for oil is decreasing.

And then there are those living in Lala Land. To each his own.
