I haven't seen or heard about from anyone I know here that they're eaten here, although I have heard that some do, from others who have lived here. I have seen most everything else eaten here.

When the neighbor had the Lao Khao boys over for a night time BBQ, it was dog. This is Sakon Nakhon.

No. Chickens are raised as food. Dogs are domestic animals and only eaten by some that also don't look at them as pets and part of the family. People have stolen my chickens and ducks, but they are replaceable as they are again, food. Dogs aren't and are more loyal than most any other animals. Anyone who intentionally kills a dog, especially here, isn't doing so for food but anger, over an issue they learned in childhood. That domestic animals lives mean nothing. People that can readily kill a dog are likely to hurt humans a lot easier than those that respect them.

Or maybe he's just protecting his food supply?

Yes true.

But they do act as security guards at night.

The dogs next door go spazz,  if and one come nosing around at night.

Good alarm system , mostly. :giggle:

And that's why people poison them, barking all night.

Anyone who lives in the sticks understands this one.

And other things that go on with animals.

The wood chipper was more of a joke, don't get to fired up over it.

But dead dog over chickens, I get it.

Some times people die over this issue.

'The woodchipper was more of a joke'. Really ? I suggest you seek medical help.
