Marijuana use would be a violation of federal law ... hence the denial.

 

Even I used to be questioned by US Imm almost every time I returned.   Loved the "any drugs or firearms with you" query.  Due to past (supposedly expunged) arrest record, and me having a current FFL (Fed Firearms License)

 

Oh yea, instead of ordering any firearm I want from any manufacturer, I'd rather bring one back illegally from Mexico or the Caribbean Isles. 

 

He obviously has some notation attached to his PP that he doesn't know about.  He admits himself, they pulled him aside to a private room, before even asking for his phone.  Nuff said.
