My Thai girlfriend has swollen lymph nodes.

She wants to see doctor.... As as Thai do.

Told her it's natural for fighting infection.

No no need to see doctor unless they get hard or red.

@SherylSheryl

BTW, Fourth month with shingles, tiger balm... In spraint eases the main.

Sorry I don't follow. "In spraint eases the main." means what?

She has had shingles  for 4 full months?  Shingles per se  (with rash) does not last that long.  Post-shingles neuralgia pain can, but   would not cause enlarged lymph nodes.

Enlarged lymph nodes can have many causes, including TB and various other infections, and cancer. Usually best to see a doctor if they persist. They do not need to be hard and red to warrant medical attention.

Sorry Sheryl, I'm on my fourth month with shinglels, my GF has lymph nodes.

There's a spray with tiger balm that I can recommend vs the the pain

Only sangsom soda helps

Sheryl was right. Lymph node enlargement can mean a few things, including strep throat, a cold, infections. I had one in my neck that was hard and they took it out for a biopsy which proved benign. Best to see a doctor depending on how long she's had them...............https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/swollen-lymph-nodes/symptoms-causes/syc-20353902.

With friends like you...

Someone wants to see the doc, why discourage them?

Thais go hospital if they sneeze. I have a friend in Sweden that sit in the Nobel committee in medicine, I call him first.

Ok. So your GF has enlarged lymph nodes.

For how long?

And is there an obvious infection source? e.g. sore throat or wound?

No obvious source then if it persists should see a doctor.

No apparent reason for swollen lymph nodes, could be lupus.

Good luck to her, it sounds like she will need it.

I agree with Sheryl and I'm not a Doctor, nor do I believe in running to a Doctor for most ailments, but you need to get you girlfriend in to see a real Doctor and not some clinic on the side of the road, either.

Gone now, just a minor infection.

Had a  Norwegian friend on Samui, hypercondric.

Alcoholic with diabetes, smallest sneezes, into the hospital.

He always had the room closest to the bar (yes they have a bar at Thai international).

We went to play cards with him and drink beer, when he started to get drunk , press the button for morfine.

Norwegians has free healthcare for 7% of their retirement.

He died age 53.

Lymph nodes help to partially detoxify the lymph as it makes its way to the liver, thereby giving some protection to that organ which does the final detox.  The lymph is essentially blood plasma and there is more of it than in the blood.

The lymphatic system has the important task of bathing and nourishing the cells of the body and removing their metabolic waste products, but seems to have been underestimated until recent times; elements of it such as tonsils and appendix having been sometimes routinely and unnecessarily excised.

Swelling of the nodes can be an indication of infection, so that may suggest some approaches to be made, including the avoidance of heavy meals, frequent snacking, and commonly allergenic foods (which can place a heavy strain on the immune system).

There may be some useful ideas here:
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/how-to-treat-swollen-lymph-nodes-in-neck-naturally

Am not sure whether lymphatic massage would be appropriate in this case: might spread infection.  But you could check it out.
"Lymphatic massage therapy, also known as lymphatic drainage massage, is a gentle technique that helps move lymph fluid through the body to reduce swelling and promote detoxification. It is particularly beneficial for individuals with lymphoedema or those recovering from surgery, as it encourages the lymphatic system to function more effectively."
