Not really.  Israel came along and took land from Palestine.  Palestine has been "fighting back" ever since, while Israel has continued to steal more and more land, killing and maiming Palestinian men, women and children as they go.

How so?  You used there being a Jewish building being in what was at the time Palestine as an excuse for the Israelis to take over.  Why isn't a Khmer building in Thailand an excuse for the Cambodians to take over?

I suppose they are seen as the rightful owners of the land, because they mostly occupied it at the time of the influx of Zionists in the late 40s. When the British made such a royal mess of the mandate, clearly it was the Palestinians who were the majority population there. Hence, people view them as the rightful owners, with Zionists buying up and  stealing land by stealth afterwards. Even to this day the land grab continues, so it's hard not to see the Palestinians as the rightful owners when even now the Israelis are taking the land from them.

Yes, that is exactly what is needed: for Palestinians and all other Arabs to recognize Israel's right to exist as the homeland of the world's Jews.  One that's done, the details can be worked out through negotiation.  Lasting peace is impossible when Hamas has as its goal the annihilation of Israel.   I went into detail about that in a different thread:
