Well it worked! He's still in power.

Go Israel 🇮🇱

Sure, fighting Gaza is his fight to survive politically.

Good chance for him to become inmate of a jail, full of Hamas members. I wish it will happen.

Nothing to do with the hostages Hamas is holding then that should have been released unconditionaly?

This has been one of the worst kept secrets for years.

That was reported at the time . Its not a sectret or a new disclosure

"However, Netanyahu abruptly changed course when Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a hardliner who has long demanded the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in Gaza, warned Netanyahu he and his allies would quit their coalition government if any cease-fire deal were reached. Such a move would collapse the coalition and force new elections, which polls at the time suggested Netanyahu would lose."

That is how democracy works , the Prime Minister confers with the elected Ministers and come to a decision .

I suppose that you would prefer a Dictator who rules supreme and takes no advice from anyone else

You are confusing political self interest for democracy.

I would prefer the war not be extended and expanded to keep Netanyahu out of prison.

You have him convicted and going to prison before the trials finish then. Interesting

Kinda put in perspective why you don't mention the Hostages Hamas is holding and the fact that only 1% of Israelis want Hamas to remain in power.

Why do lefties like terrorists so much?

Would you have liked the war to end early with  Hamas still in power and the hostages exchanged for a Hams victory in the war ?

I do think that you  would prefer  it if Israel had lost the war

I must have missed the memo about all the hostages being returned.

Oh and with regard to NYT. Tell someone who cares.

MOD EDIT: Troll baiting slur removed @Chomper Higgot

The NYT is wrong.  Joe Biden’s actions prolonged the war.

If there were no hostages being held and the terrorists agreed to lay down arms you would have a slither of a point even though your jumping the gun by having him in prison before following the justice system procedure.

Can I engage in whataboutery here ?

The Hamas leadership , those who organised and started this war and arranged for mass murder and war crimes .

Those Hamas leaders sitting in Qatar on their Billions they acquired through correction .

Those Hamas mass murdering corrupt war criminals who are responsible for 50 000 deaths .

Why arent you calling for them to be jailed ?

Whatever it takes and congratulations to Netanyahu for staying in power.

So you believe that the present war and all of the middle East problems would be solved by a new Israeli PM?

You should perhaps read the article.

I did. Tell me how does that change my post? Did you read my post?

Read your post above regarding "keep Netanyahu out of prison"!

You imply that the war would "change!" with his removal!

I will now therefore ask how?

Do you think a dove will come in and stop all conflict in the ME or maybe somebody, even stronger, who wants to annihilate all of Israel's enemies or what?

The implication you yourself apply is a non sequitur.

I don’t imply anything of the sort.

The article states Natanyahu extended the war to keep himself out of prison and  makes reference to opportunities to end the war that he did not take up together with acting to end a ceasefire.

I have made no statement on ‘all conflict in the middle east’, that too was something you yourself inserted.

Yes, highlight the bit where I say he should be put in prison, and as you claimed, before following the justice system.

At no time have I said Netanyahu should be put in prison before following the justice system.

Which is why you can’t produce any stately from me in which I say such a thing.

“jumping the gun by having him in prison before following the justice system procedure.”

In the absence of such statements, how about addressing the article in the OP?

I believe there are threads on that.
