Specially all supplements like vitamins where they go great lengths to cover China origin like hiding behind "Canadian" or "USA" company... Most of these 99% owned by "Mr. Ho Lee Fuk" from Fujian or Guangdong.

I have contacted Makita about these and they said they can't do anything about the counterfeits. Lazada & Co. just don't respond or do anything. They are concerned specially about batteries that have risk of exploding.

That's mostly from Lazmall, not the lazada in general from direct sellers. But, even Lazmall now a days is getting full of suspicious brands. 

However you can get cheap clearance things on Lazada or Lazmall.

 

I have over 1000 orders from Lazada, only things I am sure, mostly from lazmall or my farming things. Only big-time fail for me was 7 or 8 years ago with a 20V Makita drill, I was new to the game.

I find lazada great for farming tools, materials, etc.

just terrible how the new reviews are automated with pre-made reviews. it's become so artificial, people dont write anymore, they just click on the suggestions... "great product", "good quality", etc.

When I message the seller if that is what I will get, I get this response.

 

Reason I messaged the seller is becauze I know is a scam, since 3 previous orders for the same article, but from 3 other sellrs, resulted in the same piece of crap shipped.

Of course I reported the other 3 sellers to lazada, several months ago, but their listings are still active.

 

Take note the seller has a 100% rating on Lazada

I recently got duped on Lazada.  Totally my fault.I thought I was buying a Philips air fryer.Imagine my surprise when I unboxed this gem.I gave them a 1 star rating for fooling an old man. I tried it 3-4 times and works okay so far. 555 Laughing at myself on this one.

Lazada have some great products. As has been posted,  be warned that well known brands advertised at low prices are obviously not genuine. If you are happy knowing this then buy but there is no reason for you to complain.

Use common sense.

Lazada has the best customer service and most items can be returned, even if you just change your mind.

I received an item that was broken and could be returned, even upon change of mind. I was about to travel, but still had time to print the label and go to the shop to return the product. However I received the message, that the seller would consider my return request and get back to me within 3 days. After I left to travel, the seller accepted my return request, but I had to return the item within 7 days, which would not be possible, since I would not be home by then. After I returned back home, I called Lazada and explained the problem. The customer service agent didn't even hesitate and swiftly extended the return date.

I guess it varies from supplier to supplier?

 

I just click return......then get, please choose a date and a time......Flash, or whoever, will collect.

 

No repackaging, no labels....they just collect the item, even unboxed.

My experience with Shopee is that they have less fake listings, probably because they are not associated with the world's biggest scammer online shopping platform aliexpress

Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware.

If the prices of a product are too good to be true?  Then they are too good to be true.  Use your brain.  Some of the cheap stuff I'm perfectly fine with.  Like 150 THB "Fender" guitar cables.  They ain't Fender.  But?  Do they work?  Yeah, they work fine. I have the real-deal as well and can't tell any difference in the sound quality.  Same with some other electronics I've bought like hubs and cables. 

Then there is just plain cheap cr*p.  But I buy it knowing full well it's plain cheap cr*p but it serves a purpose.  I bought a garden sprayer for 46 THB.  It showed up broken.  Not even worth sending back at that price.  Just bought another from a different vendor. Works fine for my purposes.  

When you get into higher end stuff it can be different.  Get to know the vendors and their reputation.  I've bought guitars online (I'd like to try before I buy but here in the LOS is sometimes impossible unless you live in BKK to find the make and model you want anywhere but online), but they were sourced from well know music vendors in BKK and as soon as I got them I verified their serial numbers. Caveat Emptor.  If a product's manufacturer has a website to verify the authenticity of a product - then use it.

Personally I don't want the government to get too involved in policing sites like Lazada and Shopee.  If I CHOSE to buy cheap-assed products with a clear mind knowing full well that they are probably knock-offs - well - Caveat Emptor...that's my decision.

Now if you're buying high-end products online, and you don't take the time to vet the product, vet the vendor, check it's authenticity, and verify it's real - and you get burned?  That's just stupid.  I've bought tablet computers, guitars, amplifiers and the like from Shopee and Lazada and upon receiving them checked to make sure they were real.  For example, I had a question about the authenticity of a guitar strap I bought.  I took pictures including serial numbers and sent it to the company's customer service center in the US.  They verified that my purchase was authentic.  Easy. 
However, I've also have bought items I'm sure are knock-offs like a well known manufacturer of Bluetooth speakers which was recommended by our good friend @BritManToo.  There are three types of products in this category: real for sure (super-expensive), quality knock-offs (mid-priced), and complete knock-off (super-cheap). I bought a medium priced speaker and was so happy with it that I bought another one as a gift for a friend of mine. The brand name means nothing to me.  It had great sound for the price.  That made it a winner.  

So one more time!   Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware.

Ali Express does not compare to Lazada.
With Lazade, there is a 99% chance of getting your money back if something has gone wrong.
This week another bad experience with Ali, ordered parts from 2 different suppliers, did not arrive.
After complaining to Ali, you get the middle finger, they say it was delivered, and nothing is refunded!
And complaining is no longer possible either.

They are "guaranteed" to be genuine.

For many years the USA has had a big issue with Thailand and counterfeit goods. I would say that this is to do with 'compliance' vis-a-vis Thailand trying to secure some kind of low-tariff FTA with America, as has been in the news recently.

Then I must be very lucky as the stuff I but from Lazada seems yo be genuine. Some stuff I have ordered came from China which I knew when I ordered it. Some came from Thailand.

 

Do you have a link to back up your claim?

 

Or are we just supposed to accept your unsubstantiated word for it?
