So much highlighting and underscoring going on here,

Yeah something smells fishy, and it's not the usual after-taste of Bangla road...

Two kids fantasising.

Just remember kids, just say no! or you too could end up like this or like that American, who lives in a drain.

I actually found that quite disturbing.

pfff...Drugs of all kind in clubs of all kind and being approached in the latter for the former by people of all kind   is hardly limited to Thailand.....it's   worldwide  and way more hardcore actually in some European countries that i know

It's kind of the point of clubs, but not, however, the point of the story

This tale surely serves as a stark reminder as well.

She's lucky she still has both of her kidneys.

And yes.  That's a joke.  Kinda...

My advice to anyone from the USA who asks me for Thailand safety tips:  Don't drink anything that comes in a bucket.  I hope they're smart enough to extrapolate that to anything that comes in a ziplock bag.

Thai prisons cannot be compared with Western prisons. Simply don't break the law and avoid bad people.

“Red flags were everywhere,.............. this was not going to be a good idea............... treated them to around ten drinks each..................rejected the offers and dashed back to their hotel at 4am.

So, it took many drinks and a long time before the red flags started waving?
