You need to ask local people, jewelry repair shop out of tourist area otherwise repair cost will be crazy high.

Yeah, I was thinking about having her weigh it. I would figure that maybe they could possibly do it while she waits if the goldsmith is about

It's a very fine chain I don't think they can fix it. Maybe put in some sort of solid spacer like a fuser.
